What does BLDC mean?

Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) or Brushless DC (BLDC) motor, is a type of brushless Direct Current (DC) motor that does not have brushes, hence the name “Brushless DC”.
Brushes are small mechanical components that are used in traditional brushed DC motors to transfer electrical current from the stationary part of the motor (the stator) to the rotating part of the motor (the rotor).
BLDC motor uses electronic commutation instead of mechanical commutation to control the motor's rotation, which eliminates the need for brushes and a commutator. This reduces friction and wear, which in turn increases the motor's efficiency and lifespan.
BLDC motors are more efficient, and reliable compared to traditional brushed DC motors and are commonly used in a wide range of applications, including electric vehicles, drones, fans, power tools, and many others.
