The pact introduced measures such as screening regulations, Eurodac system, asylum procedures, and a solidarity principle aimed at alleviating migration pressure on countries of first arrival while strengthening a robust European migration system. Notwithstanding these efforts, the pact has raised critical questions and concerns about its effectiveness, particularly due to focusing on returns over migrant protection. This article explores the pact's potential consequences for migrants and its broader impact on third countries.
