Fondation.
Avec ma bénédiction et ma gratitude,

Subject : Episcopal Authorization for Funding Request – Expansion of
Sacred Heart School and Religious Residence
Dear Mr. McCarthy,
I write to you in my capacity as Metropolitan Archbishop of Mbandaka-
Bikoro, with full canonical authority and pastoral responsibility over the
ecclesiastical territory entrusted to me. It is with deep conviction and
fraternal trust that I hereby endorse and authorize the funding request
submitted by the Community of the Servants of the Sacred Heart, a
congregation faithfully committed to the Church’s mission of education,
evangelization, and human development.
The sisters are currently engaged in an active educational mission in the
capital city, Kinshasa, where they have successfully established a Catholic
primary school in N’sele, Mikonga II – Camp PM. This school began its
operations in 2024 and is now entering its second academic year in 2025,
serving children from underserved communities with pedagogical
excellence and spiritual care.
In response to growing demand and urgent pastoral needs, the sisters are
now undertaking a vital project to expand and construct a full primary and
secondary school, along with a residential house for the religious
community. This initiative is not merely infrastructural — it carries a deep
spiritual and social dimension, forming young minds and hearts in the light
of the Gospel and offering a solid Catholic moral and spiritual foundation
to children who will one day shape the future of our nation and contribute
to the peace and dignity of the world.
This project is :
- Rooted in the Church’s mission to educate the whole person —
intellectually, morally, and spiritually.
- Deeply embedded in the local reality, responding to urgent needs with
active community involvement.
- A beacon of hope and transformation for families, youth, and society at
large.
- Under my direct ecclesiastical supervision and moral guarantee.
The total funding required is six hundred seventy-six thousand three
hundred seventy-nine US dollars and sixteen cents (USD 676,379.16). I
respectfully request that the Loyola Foundation consider this appeal with
generosity and urgency, recognizing the transformative impact this
investment will have on children, families, and the religious life of our
community — and, through them, on the future of our nation and the
global human family.
I remain available for any further clarification or documentation you may
require. May your discernment be guided by the Spirit of mission and
solidarity that animates the noble work of your Foundation.
With my blessing and gratitude,
