Tips for french grammar.
1. Le, la, les articles
I want the cake - Je veux le gateaux.
I want it (the cake) – Je le veux.
2. Le article can be used when referring to something general.
Veux-tu que ça arrive – Do you want it to happen?
Veux-tu que cela arrive – Do you want it to happen?
3. All words ending with ion are feminine.
La célébration, la réservation, l’organisation, la recommandation, l’exploration
4. For words ending with ion, if you remove the otion and
replace it with er, you have the verbs.
Célebrer, réserver, organiser
5. Salut means hello but can also be used to say goobye.
Salut, à bientôt – bye, see you soon
Salut, à ce soir – bye, see you tonight

7. Devoir can mean I owe you something, or I must do
something.
Je dois réparer quelque chose – I have to repair something.

formal)

9. À la is used when talking about feminine places. It can mean
to something or at something.
Je suis à la fête – I am at the party.
Elle veut l’inviter à sa fête d’anniversaire. – She wants to invite him to her
birthday party.
10. All words ending with -ette are feminine but there are
some exceptions.
