Ancien élève de l'École normale supérieure (promotion 1965 Lettres)1, Daniel Bougnoux est
professeur émérite de l'Université Stendhal de Grenoble.
Il est spécialiste de Louis Aragon, auquel il a consacré de nombreux travaux. Il a par ailleurs créé
la revue littéraire Silex2, qu'il a dirigée de 1976 à 1985. Il se spécialise ensuite, aux côtés de Régis
Debray, dans l'étude de la médiologie, collaborant aux Cahiers de médiologie, ainsi qu'aux revues
Médium3et local-contemporain4.
Depuis la mort de sa femme, d'un cancer en 2016, il soutient l'euthanasie5.
