Liban

Beyrouth, 2 octobre - Alors que les hostilités s'intensifient au Liban, l'Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM) a
lancé un appel éclair (https://crisisresponse.iom.int/sites/g/files/tmzbdl1481/files/uploaded-
files/IOM%20Flash%20Appeal%20for%20Lebanon%20Crisis%20Response%20_%20FINAL.pdf) afin de collecter 32,46​millions
de dollars pour venir en aide à 400​000​personnes touchées par la crise ces trois prochains mois.​

Des dizaines de milliers de familles ont fui leurs foyers en raison de la multiplication des attaques transfrontalières, beaucoup
cherchant refuge dans des abris déjà bondés. Depuis octobre 2023, l'OIM a intensifié son aide vitale immédiate, notamment en
fournissant des produits de première nécessité, des services de protection et une aide sanitaire. L'Organisation soutient
également ses partenaires en assurant le suivi des déplacements internes.

«​Cette crise est grave et exige une action urgente​», a déclaré Amy Pope, directrice générale de l'OIM.​«​Les circonstances sont
extrêmement difficiles et les besoins sont immenses. Nous appelons la communauté internationale à fournir les ressources
nécessaires pour assurer la sécurité et la dignité des familles déplacées​».
La situation au Liban s'aggrave rapidement. Plus de 1 600 personnes ont perdu la vie et 6 000 autres ont été blessées au cours
des dernières semaines. Les équipes de l'OIM interviennent en urgence dans les régions de Beyrouth, du Mont-Liban, du Nord,
de la vallée de la Beqaa, du Sud, et à la frontière syrienne, où plus de 175 000 Syriens et Libanais ont fui à cause de la violence.

Au 30​septembre, la matrice de suivi des déplacements (DTM) de l'OIM recensait 346​209​personnes déplacées à l'intérieur du
pays, dont plus de 31​000​familles (137​000​personnes) vivant dans 820 abris collectifs à travers le pays.​​

Parmi les 177 000 migrants présents du Liban, de nombreuses personnes ont également été forcées de fuir pour se mettre à
l’abri - notamment des travailleuses domestiques migrantes - mais sont confrontées à des possibilités d'hébergement limitées.
L'OIM insiste sur la nécessité d'une réponse globale, garantissant que toutes les personnes dans le besoin, y compris les Libanais
déplacés, les migrants, les réfugiés et les autres populations vulnérables, reçoivent le soutien dont elles ont besoin.

«​Notre appel s’intègre à une initiative plus large en coordination avec les agences des Nations Unies et les organisations
humanitaires pour augmenter les efforts de réponse au Liban​», a déclaré Mathieu Luciano, chef de bureau de l'OIM à Beyrouth.
Les 32,46​millions de dollars demandés permettront à l'OIM de poursuivre ses opérations d’aide jusqu'à la fin de l'année. Nous
sommes prêts à passer à l'échelle supérieure pour aider encore plus de personnes selon les besoins​».
