Introduction :

Les panneaux photovoltaïques sont des dispositifs qui convertissent l'énergie lumineuse
du soleil en électricité utilisable. Cette technologie repose sur l'effet photovoltaïque, un
phénomène découvert par le physicien français Alexandre-Edmond Becquerel en 1839.
Les panneaux sont composés de cellules photovoltaïques, généralement fabriquées en
silicium, un matériau semi-conducteur.

Introduction :

Le programme PVSyst est un logiciel de simulation des systèmes photovoltaïques,


développé initialement par le Groupe de Physique Appliquée (GAP) de l’Université de
Genève. Ce projet, associant le GAP et le Laboratoire d’Énergie Solaire de l’EPFL
(LESO-PB), a eu pour but de rendre ce logiciel, dont les qualités scientifiques sont
largement reconnues, plus aisé à utiliser et donc accessible à un large public
(architectes, installateurs PV, étudiants...).
