TinyURL API deprecated

By default Specific Post/Page Access Links get shortened to a TinyURL. This API though is now in process of being deprecated. It means users see an interstitial page and are not sent directly to the paid-for page. There’s an explanation here.

Are there any plans to replace use of this old API with the new one?

And if not is it possible to avoid both TinyURL and Bitly and use a completely different service (or bespoke shortener)?

UPDATE - I see now there was this update in 2019. Is using YOURLS like this still possible in both free and Pro versions?

Thanks

Yourls works perfectly (if you host it yourself) - subdirectory of your website

Yes, thanks, I have it working now.

But it’s worth making clear in the notes/changelog that the option to use YOURLS is only available with the Pro license - after selecting ‘None (don’t shorten the URL)’ in the General Settings/API dropdown.

YOURLs is still good and very nice. Maybe I could create s2’s own url shortening addon.

In any case, I need to improve the default shortener default. Thanks for the heads-up.
