If you're looking for a silly Halloween costume idea, Siri has some suggestions for you. Apple's personal assistant is equipped with a long list of costume suggestions that are updated on a yearly basis.

Siri's suggestions often involve puns, some of which are clever and some of which are downright silly. Some of Siri's costume ideas:
  • Dress up like a cat, put on an eyepatch, and be Nick Furry.
  • If you wear a white sheet and draw tattoos all over your face, you'd be Ghost Malone.
  • You could be a disembodied voice. Oh no wait. That's kind of my thing.
  • Dress in yellow and white, then put on some little red horns, and be a deviled egg.
  • Jump up and down, over and over, and shake your fist. You can tell people you're antigravity.
Asking Siri for a Halloween costume idea is a feature that's been around for almost a decade now, but it's easy to forget the option exists, and there are also typically new costume suggestions to see each year.

In addition to suggesting Halloween costumes, Siri can also read a selection of Halloween poems to you.

Siri can give costume suggestions on iOS 17, iOS 18, and earlier versions of iOS, as well as macOS and Apple Watch.

Forget Siri! VictorVictoria has the best idea ever. A friend of mine bought one of those corrugated trash cans. He cut out holes for arms, and for eyes. True, people had to help him with drinks and snacks, and a waitress opened his lid and dumped an ashtray on him, but he won "best costume!"
It's no surprise that Siri doesn't suggest an android costume though.

My brother has the pixel 9 pro and that IA is tremendously better than Siri. Not switching just shocked how good it is

What is this IA you speak of? Is it the next great thing in artificial intelligence?!?!? 😃

People forget that Siri, to date, has been very rigid. While it does handle loosely-worded requests reasonably well, the responses can be too trained in one direction or another. For example, I often find requests for songs give back some latest overnight hit that I've never heard of and don't want to hear.

The next Siri will be vastly different, and better, than the current Siri. Just wait and see.

It's incredibly annoying when Apple keep adding (what they think are) fun little easter eggs, while still not putting in the work to get the basics right.

Who's prioritising the work, Apple's PR department who demands positive news during whatever festive season?
