NOV. 2023 UPDATE This was supposed to be a simple flat theme, but evolved into a 2 in 1, so you have the regular view which is flat and sleek and also you have available an optional view (per device) that resemble some classic mini consoles (including consoles that do not have mini versions as of yet). Features of this theme: Simple flat version that runs fast and looks great. No flashy animations that may affect perfomance. Optional "Classic Mini" view for many systems (WIP). Every Classic Mini view has it's own background music. Improved original design of some "Classic Mini" (Such as PSX and Genesis). Improved UI for some consoles like PS3, 3DS, etc. "Classic Mini" style views for consoles that do not have an oficial Mini version (such as PS2, WII, etc.). Platform/console selection with video (you need to download the video first from regular launchbox menu). My first time at a theme. It obviously revolves around @nyny77's platform videos..I like the way it looks..It's nothing fancy by any means though. I also changed the select.wav file to the sound of doors opening in Metroid, so I'll add that in here as well. Select.wav -

hello peoples. reinstalled the updated coinops theme, and now there are no video snaps being displayed.tried several times to repair theme and also reinstalled several times to no avail. even went back 3 weeks and did a restore/ seems as if file path is wrong but have no idea where to look. thanks for any help

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm wondering if there's any option to add at least one -- maybe two -- additional lines of metadata under all of the games in Launchbox using the default theme? Right now, only the game's title and developer are displayed -- "Chono Trigger" and "Square" in the example on the left --, but I'd like to be able to add more metadata to the bottom, such as the genre and a custom field value -- "JRPG" and "100% Completed" in the example on the right: Default: Desired: It would be even better if it could be customized on a per-console basis, so that some consoles might use one custom field value, and other consoles could use a different custom field value, for instance. Is this already possible in the default Launchbox theme, or do I need to make an entire custom theme for it? If it requires making a custom theme, is there a simple way to just copy-paste the default theme folder, rename it to something different, change one or two lines of code, and then just use that new custom theme in Launchbox? It seems like a small enough change that breaking out the community theme creator would be overkill.

Hi everybody, When I click "manage themes" in BigBox, I get this error: This happens frequently so I don't think it is an issue with my internet. I think this may be to do with when I installed Launchbox, I did have a launchbox/launchbox folder setup. After finding out this caused issues, I copied everything from launchbox/launchbox and moved it to /launchbox and then deleted launchbox/launchbox. Should I run the "Launchbox - 13.17 - setup.exe" again, making sure my filepath is not launchbox/launchbox? Will this fix the issue? You can't change the filepath of where launchbox.exe is, or can you? So I assume reinstalling will fix without overwriting games, themes etc? More info: I have nothing in my updates folder either. I am not sure if this is normal since I just installed 2 days ago, all of my games work fine. Thank you for any advice, Peter

Hey looking for recommendations on a good theme that allows to see game attribute badges, for example controllers supported (light guns, wii remote etc..), Retroachievements support and more, so far I am mainly seeing badges only for favourited games. Reason I am asking is that I like having this overview on Launchbox and it allows me for example to quickly understand which controller I must turn on before launching etc... It's kinda preventing me from using BigBox, and I'd like to make the Jump on setting a dual boot PC with BigBox as shell. -

I really liked the retro bedroom theme, but there were a couple small things that I wanted to change. Then I ended up making an altered version of the background and changed the entire theme setup quite a bit with stuff from my childhood. Hope you enjoy it! If you have any ideas on how to improve this let me know!!! If anyone is interested in it, I may update this to be customizable where you can upload your own posters and such on the walls, currently only use the vertical scroll views, the others are not set up yet Looking to update some more stuff in the near future and tweak some stuff, when I do I'll upload the new version. Original Creator of bedroom theme Faeran was gracious enough to allow me to upload this so thank you! -
Started toying around with this idea earlier this evening and decided to try my hand at turning this into a custom big box theme. For now, I just have arcade platform game wheel done, which you can check out in the screenshot attached to this post. If this gets some interest, I'll work on a bunch of different views which will include all the major consoles, handhelds and Mame. This theme currently uses clear logos, marquees, game screenshot and videos. I'm pretty much done with the first game wheel, I'm just toying around with animating the 3d shapes in the layout right now, I may end up discarding them as they could be too distracting. The next view I'll work on is vertical game wheel with a sideview arcade cabinet. Hope you all enjoy and I'll keep posting progress as I make it. Mockup Design Community Creator WIP

Trying to preview any platform theme videos over the past couple of days has been impossible. VLC does not want to run the preview. when I select a theme video to download, the green bar goes to the end and it sits for ages (10-15mins) without finishing the download. When running Big Box, only about half the video plays. Is this a known issue?

When I apply the Aeon MQ7 theme onto my Playstation 1 playlist, the game title screenshot that is supposed to be present throughout the themes list views is not there. When I use the theme on different platforms however, the screenshots do show up. I have not tampered with the html file yet, and all my screenshots are in their default folders for my Playstation 1 games as I deleted and reinstalled all the media for this platform. I am guessing I switched some setting on launchbox that is giving me this problem, and I do not remember when or how I changed it if that is the problem. All my screenshot priorities in the options tab under tools have been set to default and the issue is not fixed.

Is it possible to use more than one theme at once? And is it possible to have specific themes for each individual game? I had seen something similar to a Big Box theme, which had a per-game theme feature in addition to the per-platform themes. But I just want to be sure this is possible. Thanks.

They might not be as great as Viking's quality work but they do the job. I like to split some of my systems up into different categories/platforms.
