Because I was somewhat disappointed by the quality of Virtual Boy box art sets, I decided to create my own a while back. But why not share it here? This includes all US releases, along with all Japanese exclusives. On top of that, there is art for the leaked Prototypes as well! For one such game, the very recently leaked Virtual League Baseball 2, no art has ever surfaced, so I got a bit creative there myself. It is based on the first game, but with a black jersey and a new logo. Better than a blank spot, right? I like to have my box art consistent, so I have somewhat unified the designs wherever possible (eg ESRB rating, VB logo, borders). Also included is a template (Affinity Photo). It's not perfect but maybe it'll be helpful for people to create other box arts in the same style (eg for homebrew). Hope you enjoy! - Teleroboxer (Japan, USA) (En) - 3-D Tetris (USA) - Bound High (Japan) (En) (Proto) - Galactic Pinball (Japan, USA) (En) - Golf (USA) - Insmouth no Yakata (Japan) [T-En by Thunderstruck v1.0] - Jack Bros (USA) - Mario Clash (Japan, USA) (En) - Mario's Tennis (Japan, USA) (En) - Nester's Funky Bowling (USA) - Niko-Chan Battle (Japan) (Proto) - Panic Bomber (USA) - Red Alarm (USA) - SD Gundam - Dimension War (Japan) [T-En by Greg Stevens & Benjamin Stevens v1.0] - Space Invaders - Virtual Collection (Japan) - Space Squash (Japan) [T-En by Feel & Greg Stevens & Benjamin Stevens & Thunderstruck v2.0] - V-Tetris (Japan) - Vertical Force (USA) - Virtual Bowling (Japan) - Virtual Boy Wario Land (Japan, USA) (En) - Virtual Fishing (Japan) [T-En by Benjamin Stevens & Thunderstruck v1.0] - Virtual Lab (Japan) - Virtual League Baseball (USA) - Virtual League Baseball 2 (USA) (Proto) - Waterworld (USA) Share as much as you like, no need to attribute or anything!- 1 review

Very simple default boxes with MAME/Retroarch logos, similar to the Launchbox ones I posted earlier. I didn't make so many variants this time, but the included GIMP files now have some more stuff in there to work with, if anyone wants to make their own boxes with them (ex. use the plastic wrap layer, recoloring). It's not the cleanest 'template' in the world... but one can play around with it if they wish ^^; You can see a preview of what those look like in the screenshots. So far I'm content using the 'Default Boxes - [Name]' version of the files rather than the alternates just for my own use, but if get bored with them I may add more alt variants, more platforms, cart images, etc... For now, I'll just leave this here as is. Default 3D Box and Default Box folders go into Launchbox\Images\Platforms\PlatformName\ Alternatively, you can add the default image by selecting the desired platform in the left sidebar, and clicking Edit. This will create the folder automatically and copy the selected image into it. Credits: MrRetrolust for the base box images, and to the creators of the MAME/Retroarch logos 👾└(^o^)┐-

This is a slightly updated version of this template. Thanks to @Durty101 for the original .psd file and Marvinator2003 for adding the PS3 logo. Requirements: GIMP Basic image editing skills (no tutorial) Changes: Converted to .xcf format. Added snap-to guides. Added PS3 logo for disc-based games. Included font MarkPro-Bold.otf. Samples: Notes: Tested with GIMP 2.10.38 (should work with latest 3.x.x). Spine text needs to be edited in a text layer then rotated to maintain compatibility with older GIMP versions. -

Converted from .psd to .xcf with minor edits for use with GIMP. Many thanks to @damageinc86 for providing the original file. Requirements: GIMP Basic image editing skills (no tutorial) Cover: Scale image to 940px (height). Add as new layer under Cover group. Align cover to top and bottom of spine. Use Unified Transform Tool to snap corners to the guidelines. (optional) Use the Cover Features (icon/ratings/logos) if the cover does not already have them. Spine: Create new text layer (Text Tool) under Spine group (font = Mark Pro Bold, size = 20px). Rotate text to 90-degrees (Rotate Tool). Snap to spine text guideline. Use spine logo for specific game. Notes: You can watch the original Photoshop video here. Not too hard to figure out. GIMP 2.10 (stable) does not support non-destructive text editing yet, but it is an upcoming feature for 2.99.18 (dev). You need to create a new text layer every time you want to change the text content. Feature is now suppported in GIMP 3.x.x but letting the user add that object themselves to maintain compatibility with older GIMP versions. The outcome is very similar to this collection: -

So, there wasn't an actual category for this, so I put it here because I think it best suits what I'm doing. So, there is a theme that I love, and it utilizes the ability to set an individual controller graphic per game, so to help with this, I thought it would be nice to have a template. Right now I only have PS1 and PS2 controllers in there but I'll update periodically to include more controllers. I might even fill some out with in-game controls. Anyway, I think I saw somewhere that this might be implemented as a feature in a future LB build, but that might not be the case, regardless, I know that specific themes can take advantage of this, so for anyone using those themes, I hope this helps make your library look a bit cooler and more helpful- 4 comments

Hi all, I was wanting to make some 3D boxes for the SEGA Mega Drive that are not in the database. I was watching this tutorial and cannot find a blank template for the Mega Drive / Genesis. Would anyone happen to know where I may obtain one so I can contribute some art to the database? I should mention too that I only want the blank 3D template with no shadowing or spine as I have front covers and spines to add. I know you can get lots of stuff here but they do not seem to have the nice tang tab ones common with the EmuMovies and LaunchBox database. Thank you.

MUGEN/OpenBOR Box Art Templates View File I noticed that with homebrew games created from MUGEN and OpenBOR there are not a whole lot of Box art. I thought maybe creating a couple of templates this may help with that. Maybe this can help with the two sections and make it look a little more official. Hiya! I have several flash games ready to be uploaded to the database, but when looking for examples of what to use as a game box, i noticed the database already has some pretty standardized boxes for Adobe Flash, HTML5 and Unity. Been looking around in the forums and can't find them so far. Do any of you happen to have a template or a link to them in an external website? These seem very simple to rip from the images but a template would be obviously better.
