  6. I'm having trouble opening Sega CD games on Launchbox. They'd open fine when I use Retroarch by itself but when I use Launchbox, they just refused to open. Under the Default Line-Command Parameters, I left it untouched as -L "cores\genesis_plus_gx_libretro.dll". This core works fine in Launchbox for my Genesis games but not the Sega CD games. I've also double-checked that all Bios files are in the correct system folder in Retroarch, all the Sega CD games on Launchbox are cue files, etc and they seem to be in order. Am I missing something? Thank you for your help

Hello, This is box art I have done for my own selection of SEGA CD games. There are 20 total that includes box-front, box-spine, and box-back images. The games are as follows... Batman Returns Demolition Man Earthworm Jim Ecco The Dolphin Ecco The Dolphin The Tides of Time Final Fight Formula One Beyond the Limit Loadstar Lords of Thunder Mortal Kombat NHL '94 Pitfall the Myan Adventure Road Rash SEGA Classics Arcade Collection (5 in 1) Sewer Shark Silpheed Snatcher Sonic CD Soul Star The Terminator Most of these box-front and back images are sourced from SEGA Retro scans that have been cleaned up and upscaled with Topaz-AI. After running them through that process I then scale them back down closer to their original scanned resolution and do any necessary re-touch work to clean them up to where they look acceptable to my eye. For example with the Earthworm Jim cover art, the text did not fare well at all with the AI upscale process. So I tracked down the font (or as close as I could approximate) and re-did all of the descriptions and legalese for the back of the box. The Spines and the blue "candy cane" art was redrawn by me using a Sega Retro Scan as a pattern guide. The SEGA CD logo is from Dan Patrick's platform logo pack. A lot of publisher logos and what have you's are pulled from PNGs found online and re-integrated into the original artwork to clean things up. A couple of the artworks (Loadstar, SEGA Classics, and the box back artwork for Formula One) contains some bits augmented by or straight up ripped out of artwork done for The Cover Project by Vt102.

  15. Hi guys, I am a little confused here about the few Sega CD 32X games around. I have imported them in LB as Sega CD 32X separated platform and running them through pico core in Retroarch with no success. I would like to know if this is the correct core and if you guys are aligning these games with plain 32X ones or maybe with Sega CD? Also, is a bios required to run these games? Thanks in advance.
  16. I have both the Sega CD and 3DO completely set up in Retroarch and they work fine. I followed the tutorial below to import them into LB exactly. This is specifically for the Sega CD but I applied the same process for the 3DO and neither will open in LB. When I try to open a game in LB Retroarch doesn’t even open. Like I said there is no problem within Retroarch including me having all the correct bios files. I’m wondering if there is some bug within the latest version of LB. I’m using LB version 8.1 and the latest Retroarch 1.7.0. There’s another thread talking about this but it devolved into Retroarch setups. Can somebody try to get these to work starting from scratch with the latest versions of LB and RA and let me know if they work? If they work any suggestions for me? Thanks.

  22. Sega CD was working fine when I set it up in Retroarch 1.3.6, but then I updated Retroarch to 1.5.0 recently and it stopped working. I compared the config files and they were the same, so it appears that something changed within RetroArch or LibRetro. But, here's the fix that worked for me: If you haven't copied the default config, I'd recommend doing that and telling Retroarch to use that instead (open Retroarch, go down to Configurations, and Load the copied configuration instead of the default). Find "system_directory". For me, the line read as follows: system_directory = "default" Change that line to this: system_directory = ":\system" For whatever reason, Retroarch doesn't seem to like "default" anymore.
  23. First my games for both systems are in .ccd, .iso, .sub format and compressed in .7z format. Also I have Gens core setup for Sega CD and Mednefen core setup for Saturn. When I set these up many months ago both systems worked fine. Launchbox would uncompress and load games on both systems. Fast forward to yesterday and I tried to play some Saturn and it will start the decompression process then when that was done it would not load the emulator or game. I have unzipped a couple of games and confirmed working in Retroarch Standalone. So, I guess my question is does anyone know what could be causing this to fowl up. This prompted me to check all my disc based systems and found Sega CD the only other one exhibiting this same behavior. All my other disc based systems still work fine and all are compressed. Thanks for reading.
  24. Ok, so I have a doubt. I know I can separate between Sega 32x, Sega CD and Sega CD 32x. However, @reignstumble's console artwork pack doesn't include a Sega CD 32x, and also, the amount of games on that combo platform is extremely reduced. So, considering I have both a Sega 32x and Sega CD, where do you consider I should place the Sega CD 32x games? I'm inclined toward Sega CD due to the disk format, but I'd like some opinions.
