I have several hundred magazines added to a playlist in Launchbox. They are magazines related to video games. I would very much like it if when using the search engine with the word "Sonic" in addition to all the installed versions of the game in my collection appearing, those magazines that talk about the game or that have some type of report would also appear. All the magazines in my collection have a summary of each of them added in the notes section. Can I have any hope that this will become a reality or is it extremely difficult and complex to make the current search engine not focus only on the game title and search in all available sections (company, publisher, year, notes)? The truth is that I cannot understand how today this frontend does not allow you to perform advanced searches, when other frontends with less community and less support do it perfectly. I don't think it's such a crazy idea that it isn't implemented today, honestly. I am convinced that many users have the same need as I do with their magazines and manuals.

Coming from Hyperspin, really enjoying the customizable themes and views available here in BB. The only thing so far that's completely inferior to HS is the search function. HS seems to have a "title only" search function, and the results are listed by platform. This performs quickly with predictable results and the results are easy to navigate. Conversely, searching in BB seems to parse all of the metadata, not just the game title, so you get way too many results. In addition the results are shown in one big list, which is hard to navigate when there are lots of results. In conclusion the BB search function would be much nicer if A.) you had to option to search by GAME TITLE only and B.) The search results were sorted by platform. Attaching photos below for comparison.

Hi and thank you so much for reading this as I'm going nuts trying to figure this out, I have a TON of games and I'm currently in the process of creating custom playlist for them so I can have them all neatly organized by series, the problem is it's VERY time confusing and prone to error trying to check if I miss a game because of the multiple platforms and over 50 plus custom playlist categories I have created... going to every playslist and right click and then go to the main menu, go to platforms, go to game...... is there's ANY way to check if I ****ALREADY**** put a game on a custom playlist WITHOUT going all the way to that particular playlist one, by one??? please, anyone? if not how can I humbly request this feature for massive neat nerds like me? please and thank you so much!!!! P.S. THANK YOU, AGAIN!

I would suggest adding the ability to look at the games that start with letter H by having the Alphabet listed at the top to pick from instead of only page numbers. Also, It would be nice if there was a separate group purely for PSVR games. I have almost all the cover art images collected already for all the PSVR games that have been released on physical disk that I could add to the database.

When searching for media, The Game Database almost never fails to find a match. EmuMovies, on the other hand, occasionally fails to find a match. My question is, what string is being used to search EmuMovies? Is it the game Title? I'd like to know so I can try editing the name (i.e. removing special characters, etc.) to see if it helps to return a match.

Whenever I go to the Launchbox Games Database website and do a search, I'm either getting Server Runtime Error or it takes 10 seconds to complete a search. Browsing through platforms, genres etc. work fine.

Hi Everyone! I found it really hard to search for games when looking at a console and none are expanded. I wrote a little script that writes the name of each game on top of it's cover so I'll be able to find games easier and even use the browser's search functionality on a console. Here's the script and how to use it: 1. Create a new bookmark in your favorite browser 2. Enter the following name: "Launchbox - inject names" 3. As the URL, enter the following code: javascript:(function() { $('.box-item').each(function(){ let qElm = $(this); let boxWidth = this.clientWidth; let imgWidth = qElm.find('img')[0].clientWidth; let boxHeight = this.clientHeight; let imgHeight = qElm.find('img')[0].clientHeight; let hSpace = (boxHeight - imgHeight) / 2; let wSpace = (boxWidth - imgWidth) / 2; let name = $.trim(qElm.next().find('h3').text()); qElm.append(`<div style="position: absolute;bottom: ${hSpace + 5}px;left: ${wSpace}px;right: ${wSpace}px;color: white;display: flex;align-items: center;text-align: center;justify-content: center;background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5)">${name}</div>`); });})() I usually put this in my bookmark bar for easy access. Look at the gif for a quick demo. I hope someone else will find this useful ? Notice that it might take a while if your rom collection for a specific console is huge ?

I would love the ability to say "Alexa, Play Mario" and have My TV turn on, switch to the correct input, and BigBox and/or LaunchBox startup with a search for all my Mario games. I would be able to script this very easily if BigBox.exe could have a command line switch "-s Mario", for example. This would launch BigBox straight into search results screen for all games with Mario in the title. Would this be possible?

Is there a way to search in my changes status? Is it possible to make any change in my games? Thx

Is there any way the Hall of Light databases (http://hol.abime.net/) can be included in the default metadata searches. This appears to be the only 'one stop shop' for Amiga game information and includes heaps of information that is not available via LaunchboxDB, wikipedia or emumovies.
