🎮 PC Game Scraper for LaunchBox PC Game Scraper is a robust metadata and media scraping plugin for LaunchBox. It intelligently prioritizes Steam for PC game metadata and IGDB for console titles. It leverages SteamGridDB for high-quality frontend artwork and YouTube (via yt-dlp) for video trailers. The plugin features advanced integration with HowLongToBeat (via FlareSolverr), now upgraded with a dedicated "Console Fork" to pull version-specific completion times directly from the site’s internal data. 🛠️ Dependencies & Requirements To use all features, the following components are required or recommended. I've included everything I can for your convenience. If you are not comfortable with them or do not want to use the optional Deno.exe. You may download your own or remove Deno.exe if you don't plan on using cookies.txt or downloading age gated videos. Required for Core Functionality yt-dlp.exe (Required for Video): The engine that downloads trailers. Must be placed in the plugin folder. ffmpeg.exe (Required for Video): Handles video merging and ensures files play correctly in LaunchBox. Recommended SteamGridDB API Key (Highly Recommended): Required for fallback images not available on Steam. IGDB Client ID & Secret (Highly Recommended): Required for all console game metadata and "Gap Filling" for PC games metadata either not on Steam or difficult to extract. FlareSolverr (Required for HLTB): A local proxy service needed to bypass Cloudflare security when fetching HowLongToBeat playtimes. cookies.txt and Deno.exe (Optional): Helps yt-dlp bypass age-restricted content gates on YouTube and sign in to your premium account. Deno.exe will solve captchas to bypass YouTube's bot protection. ⚠️ Disclaimer This plugin scrapes data from third-party sources. Please use FlareSolverr and yt-dlp responsibly and at your own discretion. ✨ Key Features 🧠 Smart Metadata Routing PC Logic: Scans Steam first. If a game is found, it then uses IGDB to "Gap Fill" fields Steam often lacks, like Series and Age Rating. Console Logic: Automatically skips Steam and routes directly to IGDB based on the game's platform. Manual Search: If automatic matching fails the user is prompted for a new search term, steam app id, steam store or igdb url. 🎬 Video Downloader Source Selector: Select your desired source, Steam or Youtube. Smart Fallback: For PC games, if Steam source is selected it attempts to grab the official Steam Store trailer first. If unavailable allows the user to switch to Youtube, or if the game is a console title, it pivots to a YouTube search and injects the platform in to the search term for better matching. Dynamic Slicer: Automatically applies your "Max Duration" limit to YouTube downloads to save disk space. YouTube videos will be cut off at the time set. A 10 minute gameplay video is cut down to 5 minutes. Resolution: Will attempt to download the desired resolution. If it is not available will scale down until one is found for the selected video. Suffix: Allows user to define desired youtube search term suffix, IE Trailer, Gameplay, etc... ⏱️ HowLongToBeat The plugin now uses two distinct methods to fetch playtimes: PC Logic: Pulls the general "blended average" from the HLTB search results. Console Logic: Loads the game's specific detail page and extracts the exact platform data (e.g., pulling GameCube-specific times for Metroid Prime rather than the Wii Remaster times). Custom Fields: Creates custom fields for dynamic playlist creation. Marathon 60h+, Long 30-60h, Extended 15-30h, Standard 5-15h, and Quick <5h, as well as the exact times provided by HLTB. 🎮 Real-World Workflow Examples If you select a game and run all three functions (Metadata, Images, and Video), here is how the plugin behaves: Example A: Windows Game (Cyberpunk 2077) Identification: Finds the game on Steam via name match. Metadata: Pulls metadata from Steam, then if client id/client secret are populated and correct hits IGDB to add additional fields not available or hard to parse from steam. Images: Grabs all available steam images. If images are missing or if SGDB override is enabled and your SGDB API is present it hits SteamGridDB. Video: Downloads the official trailer directly from the Steam Store servers or YouTube if the video source is YouTube. HLTB: If enabled and flaresolverr is setup. saves the general PC completion times to your custom fields as well as the category times mentioned above. Example B: Console Game (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for GameCube) Identification: Automatically routes to IGDB after detecting the GameCube platform. Metadata: Pulls the IGDB metadata. Images: Since no Steam ID exists, it goes straight to SteamGridDB to find the community-voted best GameCube media. Video: Recognizes it isn't a PC game and routes to YouTube to search for "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess GameCube Trailer". HLTB: Triggers the Console Fork. It ignores the Wii and Wii U times and pulls only the GameCube platform data. -

A set of MSU-1 Covers, in the UGC format. *UPDATE* New V2 pack, all covers so far now in two seperate packs, Single case or Dual case, You can use one or the other, or if like me you can use both. The Reflection effect has been removed, this was asked for a few times.. 60+ cases had some changes made to the front covers using the correct MSU logo's ie, Super Famicom games now using a Super Famicom Logo instead of the Super Nintendo one. All cases to date are in these packs, and as far as im aware, this covers every game that has had an MSU-1 Patch. There are 2 sets Single Faced - 292 Covers, most have alternates using the USA/JPN and PAL cover styles Double Faced - 293 Covers, most have alternates using the USA/JPN and PAL cover styles. These covers are not meant to be accurate representations of the original boxes, these are customs and are to be treated as such. The naming is standard Launchbox/Super Nintendo Game names, so unless you have them named different, you should be able to drag and drop into the Box - 3D folder. (i recommend if you have my older boxes to remove them, and start fresh.) (Note: Boxes are labeled using one of the options Single or Dual, if you want to use both sets, you will need to manually edit each title in LB and drag the new extra box(s) over and set it to 3D Box.) A lot of these covers came from http://thecoverproject.net . Covers that did not exist i tried to make as carefully as i could. I am no artist, all the images contained in these Cases are from the net and are made by more talented people than myself, i make these primarily for myself, so i hope you like them, and will use them.- 4 comments

Here I used ChatGPT to recreate box art that was in poor quality. I've provided both images. A before and after. The AI Game Boy Color Box Art was prompted by me and Elv13s had nothing to do with it. Here to offer up my first set of the new year (2022)!!! I am sharing my recently completed uniform high res box fronts, like my high res uniform Game Boy carts (which you can find here). The current Game Boy sets that I see out there are all compiled from different resources and include different sizes and varying qualities and even some incorrect/inaccurate box art. This set eliminates all of that. This set also has a uniform "GAME BOY" banner and equally sized images across the entire set. Included are all 501 NTSC box fronts. I have named them using the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build. There are a few boxes that may not auto-load; you will have to manually update your game name in Launchbox using the alternate naming. Its worth making a quick mention that to my knowledge and after searching high and low two games in this set ONLY were released as a "Player's Choice". Those games being The Smurfs & Mickey Mouse - Magic Wands! (There is fake are out there showing them with a standard box but many of the restoration sites back this information.) -

I was sick of seeing crappy Nintendo Game Boy Color box images in my collection (I made this set years ago in lower resolution with the annoying Game Boy Color logo on all the spines). I remade all boxes in high quality HD with accurate spines on most boxes. All USA games and Euro exclusives are included, along with many Japanese exclusives that can be played in English. Most spines and boxes on the USA and Euro games are all retail accurate, some spines may be custom made if I couldn't find proper source images. As always I included PSD templates for the 2D and 3D boxes if anyone wants to include their own games not included here. About 669 games have been done here. Also included are cropped fronts and spines. This system was a big pain finding suitable source art. For some reason GBC (and also GBA) are a lot harder to find HQ scans than the original Game Boy games. I got lot of images off ebay and thecoverproject, but most of the covers were standard low res 500x500 that I had to enhance and clean up. Most came out great. There are some covers that look pretty awful like International Superstar Soccer 99 (USA). I could not find a decent source image for the north american release anywhere! I image enhanced a crappy 200x200 thumbnail image I found and replaced the logo and its doable for now. NHL Blades of Steel (USA) is another one that was tough to find. Big thanks to all the logo wizards in the forums who helped create some clear logos for some of these boxes. Feel free to let me know if there are any errors. If anyone has better scans for some of these covers let me know, And if anyone wants to upload some of these to the Games DB, by all means do so. Enjoy this collection!- 2 comments

ABeezy's Nintendo 64 Box Fronts View File Hey Guys, Just like the new high-res N64 carts, here are all 296 released NTSC Nintendo 64 box art fronts. These are all high-res and are all a uniform size. They are much better then what is currently out there. I have decided to do this set because N64 could use some love and these are all accurate to what was released. I have named them using the no-intro naming scheme (as all my files will eventually be updated to this format). When dropping these in your Launchbox build there are a handful that do not auto-load; you will have to manually update your game name in Launchbox. If anyone notices any issues or anything let me know otherwise enjoy! Submitter ABeezy13 Submitted 08/07/2020 Category Game Box Art

Back with yet another nice set. The current Game Boy Advance sets that I see out there are all compiled from different resources that have different coloring for the GBA side label, and include different sizes and varying qualities. This set eliminates all of that. I have mad a full NTSC accurate and uniform high res GBA front box art set. Included are all 986 NTSC box fronts. A count of USA 948 + Game bundles 38 = 986 boxes. I have named them using the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build. I also want to note there is a possiblity of two more boxes getting added in a revision, they are the the following: 4 Games on One Game Pak (Nickelodeon Movies) (USA) 4 Games on One Game Pak (Nicktoons) (USA) Just waiting on official confirmation these were licensed and released in the USA. Another box art set for another dead system (but that's not even true, games are still being made for the Atari 2600!). Frustrated with lack of decent Atari 2600 2D box art images, I set out to collect or even make box art for the hundreds of games for this system. A lot of these images were taken from coverproject.net, or made from scratch by me and others. Only front and left spine images are included, no back box art for this sorry. I did the left spines so I could make a 3D box art set which I will upload as well. I tried to get the best quality source images possible and folks at coverproject.net made that possible. For the Europe, unlicensed and prototype releases I did the best I could with what was available. These look great and I wish I could add them all to the gamesdb but that would take so effin long. There are hundreds of official and unofficial releases here. And a lot of alternate boxes for some games are included. There are 2 downloads, boxes with spine and boxes without. Enjoy these guys! -

Happy Holidays everyone, Its been quite some time since I shared a set with everyone. I have been working on several sets and have a bunch more still cooking. Just slower and more picky these days with what's shared. I have created a new Master System/Genesis/Mega Drive "2.5 D" Box art template from scratch using scalable vector shapes and Adobe Photoshop layer styles for realism. This box template is accurate to the original as I used my own box as a source. Comparing this to what else is out there this is both the highest in resolution and the most accurate. While I am personally not a fan or have any nostalgia for the Master System it was looking a bit sad in my collection with a lot of low quality cover art. This set is extremely high quality and large files hence the size of this download. This is all 114 released NTSC Master System games following the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build there may be a few boxes that do not autoload due to the name differences between how Launchbox scrapes the games and what no-intro names them. Therefore you may have to manually update a few image names to your liking or use an alternate name within Launchbox itself. As always any issues with any images please reach out. If there are any errors or something does not seem right please reach out! Stay tuned in 2025 for more art work sets! (The wait is worth it as there are some very good sets to be coming out!)- 12 comments

Hey all, got yet another MASSIVE "2.5D" set that admittedly took too much time, but I digress. There are a few other PS2 sets that do exist out there however the difference here is the colors are more accurate, the resolution is higher and the set is uniform. This set was complied from a very nice full high res scan set. This set will be part of a uniform series with more platforms to come that use the same exact DVD case style template along with same size dimensions and high resolution artwork. This set like all of my sets includes a uniform "Playstation 2" banner when scrolling through your games for nice uniformity. This is all 1,790 released NTSC PS2 games following the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build there may be a few boxes that do not autoload due to the name differences between how Launchbox scrapes the games and what no-intro names them. Therefore you may have to manually update a few images to your liking or use an alternate name within Launchbox itself. Also contained within this set is a second folder with 14 games that received special edition releases. This should cover anything but as always if anyone notices any errors please let me know. Enjoy! Also for those interested, you will find I have a matching PS2 disc art set which you can find here.- 8 comments

Uploading this as the ZX Spectrum could use some love on Launchbox. I've tried to create a unified size while maintaining all of the original artwork. I've maintained 3 different sizes using the cassette template that was floating around here with some "reconstructed" front cover images (if anyone knows who initially started that template, please let me know so I can credit the respective creator. The sizes are as follows: Single Cassette Case: these are using the existing cassette template and were used for all single cassette games or clamshells that were as close to the tape size when scaled down. Double Cassette Case: this is a new template I created keeping in theme with the single cassette cases. These cases are used for double cassette games, single cassette games that came in double cassette cases or larger clamshells where using the smaller template would have caused significant art loss. Square Cassette Case: this is a new template specifically for a few CFL games. * This set includes 90% of the Code Masters games. * There are a few games I added with a clamshell look and I kept them in the zip in case anyone wants to use those but the focus was on creating a unified set that was aesthetically pleasing. * If there is a title you don't see here check the Launchbox database as I did not bundle those here as those were not my work.- 1 comment

I am back after some time off to continue perfecting some of these box art sets... here to share my next console in my "2.5D" DVD style set... the Microsoft Xbox!!! There are a few other Xbox sets that do exist out there however the difference here is the colors are more accurate, the resolution is much higher and the set is uniform. This set was complied from a few very nice full high res scan sets. This set will be part of a uniform series with more platforms to come that use the same exact DVD case style template along with same size dimensions and high resolution artwork. This set like all of my sets includes a uniform "Xbox" banner when scrolling through your games for nice uniformity. This is all 850(863)* released NTSC Xbox games following the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build there may be a few boxes that do not autoload due to the name differences between how Launchbox scrapes the games and what no-intro names them. Therefore you may have to manually update a few images to your liking or use an alternate name within Launchbox itself. Also contained within this set is a second folder with 20+ games that received special edition releases or were part of a combo pack. This should cover everything but as always if anyone notices any errors please let me know. Enjoy! * There are 863 NTSC Xbox games. However on the official DATs 13 games are marked as not being released in North America which drops the total to 850. Through my own research it appears they were actually available and sold in North America. Therefore, depending if you want to include them or not I separated these 13 files into their own folder.- 3 comments

Hello there,👋 First; I am interested in customizing the look and feel of my LaunchBox setup. I have seen some amazing custom themes on YouTube and different forums; but I am unsure where to start. Can anyone recommend a good beginner friendly theme that is easy to install and customize?🤔 I would love something sleek and modern; but not too overwhelming to set up. Are there specific guides or resources that helped you when you were first exploring custom themes?🤔 Second; I am trying to get my box art and game media better organized. I have imported a decent sized library; but I am noticing some box art and images are either missing or incorrect. I have tried re-downloading media; but I am still seeing some issues. Is there a particular method you all use to ensure everything is organized properly?🤔 Are there any plugins or tools that make this process smoother? Also; I have gone through this post; https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/2593-vertical-aspirations-a-vertically-oriented-cabinet-minitab-theme-animated-marquee-mod-added/ which definitely helped me out a lot. Lastly; I am also open to any general tips or tricks for someone just getting started with LaunchBox. It is a powerful tool; and I want to make the most out of it without feeling too overwhelmed. Thanks in advance for any help and assistance.😇

Back once again with another "2.5D" set of art work. Other sets do exist out there that are similar to mine however the difference here is the colors are more accurate, the resolution is higher and the set is uniform. This set will be part of a uniform series with more platforms to come that use the same exact DVD case style template along with same size dimensions and high resolution artwork. This set like all of my sets includes a uniform "Wii U" banner when scrolling through your games for nice uniformity. This is all 166 released NTSC Wii U games following the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build there may be a few boxes that do not autoload due to the name differences between how Launchbox scrapes the games and what no-intro names them. Therefore you may have to manually update a few images to your liking. Also contained within this set is a second folder with 5 games that received a red case variant release. I am here to share another high res uniform set with all of you, Looking what's out there for 3DS there was nothing that was uniform in both sizing and placement of the "Nintendo 3DS" banner. I wanted to make a set that was both high quality and has uniformity when scrolling through the platform of games. This set is done in a 2.5D approach like many of my other sets where carts/discs come in some type of case. This set contains every NTSC game that has been released to date. This set has a count of 418 Nintendo 3DS games. 414 + 4 of the "new Nintendo 3DS games". I have named this set using the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build there may be a few boxes that do not autoload due to the naming differences between how Launchbox scrapes the games and what no-intro names them. Therefore you may have to manually update a few images to your liking. I would also like to say thank you to Diskmach for providing me with a set of flat 3DS covers to implement into these set! Enjoy everyone! As always if any issues are spotted please let me know! As included as a bonus are a sub folder filled with some first party Mario games that received an alternate release red case. I believe I have added all the games I have seen with the red case but if there are more please share a link with me and I can create that as well.- 6 comments

They released many in black cardboard boxes with the artwork stuck on as a sticker. These are faithful recreations and also feature games and alternative covers for some versions that came in normal cassette boxes. For a realistic 3d version go here...
