Isaac Sim 4.2 LiDAR Flicker and Other Issues

Isaac Sim Version

4.2.0

Operating System

Ubuntu 22.04

GPU Information

  • Model: RTX 4090
  • Driver Version: 550.144.03

A recent problem I am facing is that when using RTX LiDAR sensors, there is a strange behavior. I can’t explain it very clearly, as sometimes it looks like some channels are skipped or some channels step over each other. I will add a few screenshots for you to inspect. What may be causing this? I am using Isaac Sim for a long time now and this problem just started happening randomly. A few screenshots below to explain it further.

Screenshots or Videos

First screenshot looks like it just cancels out some channels randomly.

Second screenshot is when they step over each other:

And it looks like it is flickering especially when some obstacle or etc. is ahead.

@BaSiSa just out of curiosity, are you getting the same behavior in 4.5.0 or 5.0 preview build?

I will check 4.5 very soon, I still haven’t migrated to it.

@BaSiSa Isaac Sim 4.2 has reached its EOL. Please try with Isaac Sim 4.5 or 5.0. Thanks!
