DGX Spark setup

Hi, I just received a DGX Spark and I’m having trouble getting it to show up on my network or connect through the DGX Connect app.

Issues:

  1. Power behavior is unclear

    • When I plug in USB-C power, I can sometimes hear the fans, but there are no lights or indicators.

    • Not sure how to confirm if it’s actually fully powered on.

  2. Not showing on my network

    • It’s plugged into an Ethernet port in my apartment.

    • It does not appear on my Xfinity router device list.

    • So I can’t find the unit’s IP address.

  3. DGX Connect app asking for hostname/IP

    • I don’t know what hostname or IP to enter since it’s not showing up in the router.
      Questions:
  • How do I properly confirm the DGX Spark is powered on?

  • What is the correct USB-C power requirement?

  • What is the default hostname or method to retrieve the IP?

  • Are any of the USB-C ports for management or console access?

  • Is there a known issue where the unit won’t get DHCP or doesn’t show on consumer routers?

Any help or setup steps would be greatly appreciated.

  1. It has no lights, easiest way to tell if it’s on or not is to put your hand behind the unit and feel if there is a slight breeze coming from the system.

  2. Can you check if the WIFI connection shows up that is listed on the book in the box? During setup it is supposed to host a wifi network to help you install it.

  3. Did you try accessing the system setup page listed on the startup guide in the box?

Worst case you may need to connect a monitor to it and do it that way.

Although connecting a monitor can let you know if the Spark is powered on, an easier/simpler way can be to connect an inexpensive mouse. Generally its LED sensor would be lit if the Spark is powered.

Have you gone through the initial setup yet? It will not show up on your network until you do so.
