Topic Description

Detailed Description

In Isaac Sim, when using a deformable body, the desired bending appears correctly in the simulation debug and collision mesh views, but it does not bend in the normal view, behaving instead as if it were a rigid body.

Could you please share a simplified USD file and provide detailed steps that demonstrate the problem?

Thank you for your reply. The USD file is attached.
Detaild steps:

  1. Build a cylinder mesh and add defomable body to it;
  2. Create deformable material and attach it the the cylinder;
  3. Build a cube shape and attach rigid body to it and freezed its position and orientation;
  4. Add attachment between deformable cylinder and the cube;

hello,I encountered the same problem in version 4.5. May I ask if you have solved it? And how to solve it?

Hi @11849519,

The problem is that the visual mesh is not granular enough to match the Deformable Object. Please see this post: Deformable Body Visualization Issues
