feel warm/warmth

Formosa/Chinese
In this fast-paced society, everyone feels pressure, while sometimes we feel warm/warmth when some people show concern and love for us.

Since feel could be followed by a noun as in feels pressure, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't say feel warmth. Does feel warmth sound right to you? Thanks.

  • Thanks, deddish, for the concise reply.
Does that mean native speakers would say "feel warmth?"
Btw, normally, which is more commonly used, "feel warm" or "feel warmth?"

"I feel warm" is probably more commonly used, though it might not be correct in such-and-such a context.

Usually when someone uses "warmth" they would say "I feel the warmth of (something)."

"Feel warm" usually refers to temperature. Sometimes people say "I feel (all) warm inside" when they're referring to inner content, happiness (but this is kind of informal, and maybe sarcastic!)

I feel warmth for (I have good feelings toward) the people who show kindness and concern for me.

Also, I feel the warmth that other people must feel for me when they do those nice things.

    Does this help?
