How are other GMs utilizing all the newest AI shenanigans? I think it’s easier to find art for things even if it feels a little scummy, but I was previously just finding regular art off google images anyways. Now it’s AI art in the google images lol.
For things like notion and obsidian, AI MCP tools have really unlocked how I spend my time worldbuilding by spending less time entering my data into notion and more time writing my notes. I let AI translate and parse my personal notes into their respective categories and databases and it truly turns hours of data entry into minutes.
For me, I avoid “AI” in my creative work, especially in this hobby. But I do use it when writing software. I’m probably on the stricter end of the spectrum but I will go out of my way to avoid using AI artwork for my games.
@Zafety What format are you personal notes in that AI is entering that data? I’d be curious to learn more about how you’re using it in the examples you mention. Sounds neat.
Just google docs! Even freeform notes/story/lore are copied over to Notion really well and properly allocated by the category I’ve made and whether it’s an update or new addition.
This is how I’ve learned to split things up as a pretty inexperienced DM attempting a homebrew campaign and worldbuilding. I’ve found it really rewarding to see the entries grow and how things like the “living” category changes with player actions/session consequences.
And I want to specify “Copied” when the translation does happen, I can vouch it doesn’t add any embellishments or hallucinations from my Docs when taking an NPC description and splitting it up into database fields.
I avoided using Claude, my preferred model, for a while but I do use it for ideas or minutia now. My AI use was a bit of a slippery slope after I started using for the data entry but I will admit, I have fun w/ Claude connected to the World’s repository and just being able to talk about all the secrets I can’t tell my players haha
