Course not suitable for Mac users

Hi. I just bought and started “The Ultimate C# Mastery Series” course. I do not recall any warning about being based on a Windows laptop and being recommended to have one.

I have a Macbook laptop and the first thing is that Visual Studio Community Edition does not exist for Mac. I downloaded VS Code, .NET SDK, and installed all the C# extensions. But when creating a project and going to the “Hello word” exercise, syntax is crazy different:

And even the structure

So this makes the course impossible to follow for Mac users. Or at least, I do not see how

Hi
I never used a Mac myself but I used to see there is a version for mac. But indeed I also found articles mentioning it is discontinued. So at the time the course was made there was a Mac version of the course.
You can still use VS Code. It is not as full featured as VS and at times that can be annoying. Just today I was analysing some legacy code at work and just the simple Ctrl+click to see the implementation of a method does not exist on my setup. Maybe there is something that allows such feature. But that is just my setup at work. Just verified on my personal PC with VSCodium. It works. Isn’t there a feature to emulate windows on Mac ? Heard of such thing.
My guess would be you have to use Rider if VS Code experience is not sufficient for you. But AFAIK the EAP version is for learning purpose only (Same for VS Community anyway if I’m not mistaken)

Just know that the usage of Rider Free version is monitored. They take the “use for non profit” thing very seriously.
