Trisk has updated with a new review, taking a look at the mercifully short Garden of the Dead.
It's about a group of escaping convicts who become zombies because of huffing formaldehyde. Points for creativity?

Update!
So, got to the post office no problem, and it...went easy breezy lemon squeezy. I had built up in my head this annoying struggle of trying to explain everything but, nope.
"Hey so yeah, visually impaired, can't really walk down here regularly, can we figure something out?" and they did. Still some details to work out, but should be all good.
It probably helps that the person manning the counter was not just someone I went to high school with, but *sat with me on the bus almost every day*. So I didn't have to do too much explaining about my sitch, they knew me going WAY back.

So, some background for the newbies here, and a refresher for the oldies. I live in a very rural area, 10 miles from a town, plus I'm disabled, of the visually impaired variety. Some have suggested this is a very bad combination, and they might not be wrong, but that's a thought for another day...
I fortunately live only a ten minute walk from my local post office, so that's no big.
I went to get my mail after a hectic cold month where I hadn't gotten down there in awhile, to find the door locked. Huh, it was close to closing time, but it should still be...ah, a note on the door...
And it turned out the location had been shut down do to "health and safety" reasons. Since then I've also heard some suss things about the building owners, but whatever. Doesn't really matter to the ultimate fact of uh, I can't get my mail.
"But don't worry!" says the note. "Your mail can be acquired at a nearby location, the post office just two miles down the road!" So I look down at my feet, think about that being a total five mile walk, and say "fuck this" and go home.
I tried waiting it out to see if the situation sorted itself out, but the fact remains I now NEED to get my mail. I try calling the other location, just to see if, until this situation is resolved, if SOMEONE can SOMEHOW get my mail to me, instead of the other way around, because again, disabled and can't really get there.
But guess what, *the phone number does not work*. Just...immediately goes to 'this number cannot be completed as dialed". So THAT is fun.
All my friends live like...15 miles away, and I am NOT taking that five mile hike on a regular basis. But I at least have someone coming around this morning so I can at least get down there, get a HUGE pile of mail, and see if something can be sorted out.
If this becomes a permanent situation and not a "month or three" situation, it is going to be a BIG problem. Having a mailbox at the end of the driveway isn't the best situation because of the winters and plows, but ugh.

I almost forgot to post here, but getting in under the wire. Trisk has updated with the latest review, and for this Friday the 13th, I dug up a bit of movie that is totally not Friday the 13th, called Evil Laugh.
It's not the most original movie, it's not the most creative, but it has it's moments, and there's fun to be had in this very 80s slasher.

Trisk has just posted the first review for March, and I'm already heading back into space with the scifi/fantasy flick, Ionopsis.
This was made by the same group that did Way Bad Stone, and it's an intriguing, if forgetable attempt at a scifi movie in the vein of Stargate. it's bot bad, it's got it's charms, but it's not gonna win any awards.
I dig it, I'm glad I own it, but it is what it is.

LJ is poking me because I've written a post for the last three days or so, keep that streak going!
But I am frightfully boring and have nothing to really post until tomorrow's dumb movie review.
Oh look, I cheated. 😁

Trisk has updated with it's last review for February, a weird little silly vampire movie from the late 90s, Die Hard Dracula.

What a long, dumb trip to get here. But man, it tasted so good. 😁

Thanks for the suggestions, to those who made them. Oatmeal was the most common, and is indeed the sub I would have made if it's going to come to that.
Fortunately, it looks like the shipment is finally on it's way, and should be here this morning. Fingers crossed. It messes up my schedule but it ultimately just ends up with me having extra for leftover meatloaf sandwiches, and that's not a bad thing. ;)

So I intended to make meatloaf Sunday night (And starting a story off like that kinda lets you know where this is going...) but when I got home from grocery shopping Friday morning with the ground beef, I realised I didn't have bread crumbs. Hadn't even thought to check.
I didn't really want to make another trip JUST for that, plus the "snowstorm" this weekend. I hesitate to call it that here, since it wasn't THAT bad in my location, but still not exactly something to go out traveling in.
I could substitute stuff, but didn't reeally want to, so I scrambled around the internet and found what I wanted for a stupid price of shipping (Actually not THAT bad, probably as much or less than I would have paid to get some coffee and a bite to eat if I went out to get it) BUT it would be here Monday.
Well...my schedule has been so messed up lately, instead of making "dinners" shortly after getting up, I usually will swap "dinner" and "lunch" and make it in the AM, so that was probably when I'd end up making it ANYways.
Plus, I always make multiple meals at once, and switch around them, so I had another plate of food ready to go, if I had to push to Monday NIGHT.
But then! uh, the item hasn't moved from it's last location. In Connecticut. Where it probably WAS buried in an actual snowstorm. Got the notification late in the afternoon that it was delayed and not showing up Monday.
And now I'm sitting here, having had my lunch, and uh, having NO idea what to make for dinner, because I don't know if the ingredient I need will arrive or not, and I'm *also* worried that the meat could go bad, since it's been sitting in the fridge since Friday, and wasting all that meat, and messing up my meals, is not really something I can handle right now.
And I COULD go back to the substitutions idea, but that would have been SUCH a waste of money.
And I can't even be mad about it, because hey! It's the winter, and there was a snowstorm! Whataya gonna do??
I do actually have a backup plan involving the leftover chicken wings, which might be my go to if worse comes to it.
