In order to apply to HAA for admission, please look at the available start dates below and the corresponding application periods. This will tell you when to submit your application for your desired start date. Application Process If an applicant does not complete the second application step and upload the required document within 72 hours of submitting their application, the application will be cancelled, and the applicant will forfeit their application fee. HAA will notify all applicants of acceptance or denial within 10 business days of the submission of all required application materials. Applications must be completed 10 days prior to orientation to secure a spot in that orientation class. Registration fees for flight training students must be paid 8 day prior to orientation or the application will be withdrawn. If an accepted flight training student is delayed, they have 60 days from their scheduled start date to join the program or they will need to submit a new application. If a maintenance students is delayed, HAA will have to cancel their application, and they will have to reapply for the next start date. Students must be 18 years of age at the time of enrollment. Ascend Pilot Academy Application Pilot Program Student Fees International students will also need to pay a $300 International Application Processing Fee. This fee is non-refundable. Once the registration and application processing fees are paid and your TSA training request has initial approval, HAA will issue your visa paperwork. If there is a change to a student’s start date and HAA must reprocess the application, then $150 fee is charged. If a logbook evaluation needs to be done to evaluate prior experience, a $500 fee will be charged. Need More Help? Acceptance into HAA’s program is at the discretion of the school’s admissions team. Acceptance may be revoked prior to enrollment if the admissions team learns new information that they feel would make the applicant unsuccessful in the program. The HAA registration fee will be returned in this case. The documents required for the application are listed below. Once you are ready to apply, click on the application button for the program you wish to apply for. You will be asked to fill out the application and asked to pay a non-refundable $50 application fee. If this fee is not paid, your application is withdrawn. You will then receive an email with instructions on how to upload your required documents. If you are hoping to join one of our partner programs such as the Ascend Pilot Academy or Portland Community College, please do not apply with HAA until you have been accepted into that program. Note: HAA is not currently accepting applications for the maintenance program as the April class is full. At orientation, you will be required to possess a first-class or second-class medical certificate with the same privileges. If your a flight training student and wish to apply for the Ascend Pilot Academy, our partnership with Alaska Airlines, the first step is to apply directly with Alaska and be accepted into the program. You can apply via Alaska’s website. Please don’t complete an HAA application until you are accepted into this program.
Once accepted, pilot program students will need to pay the $100 Registration Fee to secure their spot.
