Nas exploracoes conceptuais constatou-sea complexidade do termo paisagem, com varias interpretacoes e multiplos sentidos.Partindo da interrogacao como e que o territorio se tornou paisagem? e o que e a paisagem?procura-se entender o conceito sob diversas perspetivas, analisando a sua evolucao e a forma comofoi enquadrado em diferentes disciplinas. Ao mesmo tempo, procura-se discutir o entendimentoda paisagem a partir de uma interpretacao fenomenologica, onde se privilegia o contacto diretoe implicado com a paisagem e os seus construtores.

Tendo em conta as actividades e os constrangimentos identificados, sugerem-se algumas medidas prioritárias na gestão deste território Património Mundial.
This paper focus on the management of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, since the classification as World Heritage, in 2001, until the present days, analysing the role of the different actors and the management guidelines developed during this period. musealização da paisagem, reflexão que surge a propósito de um estudo mais
alargado sobre a paisagem do vinho na região do Douro, tema da investigação
de doutoramento que se encontra em curso. Sendo a paisagem um artefacto
vivo e em constante transformação, por resultar de uma atividade económica,
levanta-se a questão “porque se valoriza e patrimonializa um bem que resulta
da atividade diária de uma região?”. Partindo desta interrogação, pretende-se
discutir os conceitos de classificação, patrimonialização e musealização, tendo
em conta o papel da memória e a valorização dos elementos da cultura material.
Ao mesmo tempo, interessa perceber se há uma distinção entre os conceitos de
patrimonialização e musealização tendo em consideração o papel dos museus na
sociedade atual.
This paper focus on the musealisation of the landscape, which is part of a larger
PhD study on Alto Douro Winescape. The principal objective is to examine why
do we value and musealise a living artifact in constant changing and resulting of
an economic activity with regional importance. The aspects explored are heritage
construction and musealisation considering the importance of memory and the
value of the material culture. We also explore the concepts of ‘heritagisation’ and
‘musealisation’ considering the role of museums in contemporary society.

de adaptação de um território de montanha, de condições
adversas, à viticultura, constituindo os testemunhos
desta prática a malha patrimonial que sustenta a
classificação. Neste artigo discute-se qual o papel das
quintas vinhateiras na construção da paisagem duriense,
tendo em conta o património vernacular que conservam
e a forma como a sua acção sobre o território
condiciona a transformação do terreno em paisagem.

Fazer a paisagem no Alto Douro Vinhateiro: desafios de um território-museu, 2022
This book is the result of a PhD research that examines the Alto Douro winescape musealized throu... more This book is the result of a PhD research that examines the Alto Douro winescape musealized through the inclusion on the World Heritage list of UNESCO, focusing on the issues that emerge from its management plan. Based on the concepts of landscape and heritage it argues how they are represented by those who manage and by the communities that make the landscape, looking for a new conceptual approach to improve the effectiveness of management of the territory-museum.
The investigation relies on the analysis of the literature and primary sources for the discussion of the concepts and the context of the different issues. Based on a phenomenological perspective of the landscape, the research methods focus on fieldwork and on the contact with the winescape in its different dimensions, and always considering the role of the human being in the construction of objects, places and practices.
This book identifies and characterizes different forms of landscaping as musealized artefacts seeking to value the work of the wine producers as constructors of the territory-museum. On the other hand, it analyses the process of musealization of the Douro winescape through listing also identifying different ways of understanding and managing this artefact. From this analysis it was concluded that the management model focuses on different cultures as agricultural practices and not as cultural ones, as heritage. Understanding landscape as an artefact of the material culture, the main contribution of this book is to propose the adoption of museum management strategies for the Douro Wine Region, complementing the existing management plan.
