Narrative

FLAP Canada’s 2026 Annual Bird Layout

Join us for an emotive and provocative display of the dead birds collected by our bird rescue volunteers in 2025. Last year, FLAP volunteers and staff documented over 5000 birds that had collided with glass in the Greater Toronto Area. Almost 3000 of these birds will be displayed during this layout.
When: April 11, 2026 from 10am – 1pm
Where: Feather Friendly Bird Collision Deterrent Markers , 2207 Dunwin Dr, Mississauga, ON L5L 1X1

This award-winning image by Patricia Homonylo serves as a poignant reminder of this issue, encapsulating the stark reality faced by countless birds. Each bird collected represents not merely a statistic but a life extinguished, echoing the sentiment that our built environments create a negative ripple effect that reverberates through ecosystems, impacting billions of birds worldwide.
