What I do

I am a Senior Research Software Engineer at Advanced Research Computing, at Durham University, where I lead the RSE Team providing professional software engineering services to academic research. I did my PhD research at Open Lab, Newcastle University, exploring how to design inclusive smart buildings for real humans, and completed a postdoc with the TGRAINS project where I produced a web app for modelling crop distribution. My research interests are sustainability, pervasive sensing, social justice, and data-driven activism.

Projects and Experience

• With Newcastle University's RSE Team on the FinTrust project and Centre for Circular Economy
• The TGRAINS project at Northumbria University where I developed the TGRAINS Crop Model application.
• The BuildAX environmental sensor platform, developing firmware and user interfaces as part of the OpenMovement project.
