Zusammenfassung Für einen Teil der mehrsprachigen Schülerinnen und Schüler aus der Schweiz stellt... more Zusammenfassung Für einen Teil der mehrsprachigen Schülerinnen und Schüler aus der Schweiz stellt Deutsch eine Zweitsprache dar, was mit schlechteren Leseleistungen in Verbindung steht. Anhand einer Stichprobe von 957 Schülerinnen und Schülern aus 47 offenen Tagesschulen wird untersucht, ob dieser Zusammenhang über das mündliche Sprachniveau vermittelt wird. Zudem wird untersucht, ob eine solche Wirkung durch die ethnische Komposition der Schülerschaft im Angebot, welche unter anderem die sprachliche Diversität der Schülerschaft widerspiegelt, beeinflusst wird.

Im Fokus dieser Querschnittstudie steht die individuelle und im Klassenkontext vorherrschende Akk... more Im Fokus dieser Querschnittstudie steht die individuelle und im Klassenkontext vorherrschende Akkulturationsorientierung und der Zusammenhang mit der erreichten Lesekompetenz von Schülerinnen und Schülern der 9. Klasse. Akkulturationsorientierung wird hierbei im Sinne Berrys (1997) als individuelle Orientierung an der Aufnahme- und Herkunftskultur verstanden, welche in dieser Studie anhand latenter Profilanalysen unter Berücksichtigung affektiver, behavioraler und kognitiver Aspekte komplex erfasst wird. Die so ermittelten Akkulturationsprofile, assimiliert, integriert, separiert und indifferent, werden in Mehrebenenanalysen zunächst auf individueller Ebene berücksichtigt, um die Lesekompetenz von Schülerinnen und Schülern mit Migrationshintergrund in Abhängigkeit von ihren Akkulturationsprofilen mit der von Schülerinnen und Schülern ohne Migrationshintergrund erreichten Lesekompetenz zu vergleichen. This paper investigates the effect of primary school students' utilization of extended education ... more This paper investigates the effect of primary school students' utilization of extended education offerings and of the quality of extended education on reading achievement in the Germanspeaking part of Switzerland. All-day schools are being set up. Among other reasons, as a means to level the increasing scholastic demands in the primary schools. In this context, it is expected that students' utilization of extended education will have a positive impact on their reading achievement. The authors analyzed data on 1,002 students from the longitudinal 'EduCare-TaSe: All-Day School and School Success?' study. Extended education offerings did not have a general effect on reading achievement. There was also no compensatory effect regarding the language spoken at home or socioeconomic status. However, the quality of extended education offerings had a positive effect on reading achievement in students with long-term utilization of extended education offerings.

Das Thema Kooperation ruckt in jungster Zeit im Zusammenhang mit Schul- und Unterrichtsentwicklun... more Das Thema Kooperation ruckt in jungster Zeit im Zusammenhang mit Schul- und Unterrichtsentwicklung in den Fokus des Interesses, insbesondere bei der Umsetzung einer integrativen Forderung von Kindern mit besonderen Bedurfnissen in der Regelklasse und im Zuge des Aufbaus von Tagesstrukturen bzw. Tagesschulen. Eine professionelle Zusammenarbeit an Schulen wird in einer Vielzahl von Studien im Bereich der Schul- und Unterrichtswirksamkeitsforschung als ein wichtiges Element fur eine bessere Bewaltigung von organisatorischen Anforderungen, eine Entlastung und Professionalisierung sowie eine optimale Gestaltung des Lernens betrachtet. Zusatzlich wird im Zusammenhang mit dem aktuellen gesellschaftlichen und familialen Wandel die Forderung nach veranderten Zustandigkeiten von Familie und Schule geaussert. Dabei stellt sich die Frage, wie sich eine zeitgemasse Kooperation zwischen Schule und Elternhaus gestaltet. Im vorliegenden Band werden Ergebnisse aktueller Studien aus der Schweiz und Deutschland vorgestellt.

For health psychologists, cooperation with other professions is an important part of interdiscipl... more For health psychologists, cooperation with other professions is an important part of interdisciplinary work. Such efforts are not without challenge, due at least in part to different scienti c approaches characterizing various disciplines involved in the health domain. On the other hand, interdisciplinary cooperation is rich in opportunities for all parties, not least the patients and clients who may have much to gain from such efforts. To elucidate the topic with respect to Health Psychology in the countries represented in the EHPS, questions speci cally concerned with cooperation with other professions were included in the questionnaire administered to the EHPS National Delegates (NDs) (see Plass et al., this issue). In this contribution, the cooperation of Health Psychologists with other elds of psychology and with other professions are discussed on the basis of the results the questionnaire study. The article also considers examples from Sweden and Switzerland.

As prior research suggests, transition to parenthood is detrimental to relationship functioning among the parents, which might in turn also affect the parent-child relationship. It was hypothesized that training programs for couples facing the birth of their first child will reduce these negative effects by creating realistic expectations with respect to new tasks, roles and time lapses after birth. Methods. In a randomized controlled pre-post-follow-up design, 273 couples were assigned to one of three conditions: Couple Care and Training Program (CCC-P, strong intervention), designed to support couples during and after the transition state to first parenthood (n=74), a self-directed learning approach in which parents use a DVD to learn knowledge and skills needed to adapt to parenthood (moderate intervention) (n=104) and treatment as usual (TAU, no intervention) (n=95).
