Oncology is one of the most dynamic branches of medicine. As a result of numerous oncology studie... more Oncology is one of the most dynamic branches of medicine. As a result of numerous oncology studies, there has been a significant increase in scientific and clinical data that the human brain cannot store. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology have led to its rapid clinical application. In this paper, we wanted to see the role of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in oncology. We conducted an unsystematic search of databases (Pub Med, MEDLINE, and Google Scholar) using the keywords: artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, oncology, personalized medicine. From a large number of articles available to us, we singled out review articles and clinical trial results according to their clarity and innovation regarding the use of artificial intelligence in oncology. Of particular importance to us was the ability to apply their results in everyday clinical work. The possibilities of using artificial intelligence in oncology are innumerable. Thus, AI can be used for diagnostic purposes (malignant screening, histopathology, and molecular diagnostics), therapeutic purposes (personalized treatment, prediction of treatment side effects and response to therapy, treatment decisions) as well as for prognostic purposes (risk stratification, 5-year survival, monitoring). The implementation of AI in clinical practice presents new challenges for clinicians. Namely, in the era of evidence-based and patient-centered medicine, they will have to master statistical as well as computer skills in addition to clinical ones. Therefore, it is necessary to start educating future doctors about the importance of AI in medicine as soon as possible.

In an increasingly global economy, where knowledge about how to excel competitively and information about who excels are both more readily available, the effective creation, use and dissemination of knowledge is increasingly the key to success, and thus to sustainable economic and social development that benefits us all. Innovation, which fuels new job creation and economic growth, is quickly becoming the key factor in global competitiveness. Osiguranje kvalitete cini temeljni element, a kultura kvalitete osnovni preduvjet stvaranja europ... more Osiguranje kvalitete cini temeljni element, a kultura kvalitete osnovni preduvjet stvaranja europskog prostora visokog obrazovanja u kojem je povecanjem mobilnosti studenata i profesora, ‛globalizacijom’ obrazovanja, osiguranje kvalitete postalo nužnost. Implikacije su cesto iznimno ozbiljne upravo za visokoobrazovne institucije kojima nedostaju financijski i infrastrukturni resursi te cesto imaju problema s priznavanjem diploma. Uz to, susrecu se sa sve jacom konkurenciju međunarodnih i lokalnih institucija koje koriste nove tehnologije u svom edukativnom i poslovnom sustavu, poput ICT tehnologija. In an increasingly global economy, where knowledge about how to excel competitively and information about who excels are both more readily available, the effective creation, use and dissemination of knowledge is increasingly the key to success, and thus to sustainable economic and social development that benefits us all. Innovation, which fuels new job creation and economic growth, is quickly becoming the key factor in global competitiveness. In order to realize the goals stated, a modelling method was used by setting causal models derived by applying the PATH analysis, as viewed from the aspect of the social dimension of short-term and long-term alignment, which were obtained by conducting research on a sample composed of 45 institutions from the higher education system of the Republic of Croatia and their managers in permanent (finance director, secretary) and elective positions (chancellor, vice-chancellor, dean, vice-dean). Research results abstract the conclusion which expresses a novel premise that strategic planning of the integrated business and information system significantly depends on long-term management alignment, directly influenced by common knowledge on domain and financing. The propounded premise represents a possible impulse for further in-depth research that should be undertaken longitudinally in this author's view, using as large sample of international character as possible.

In order to meet the demands of modern business, traditional logistics has been increasingly rely... more In order to meet the demands of modern business, traditional logistics has been increasingly relying on the application of information and communication technologies, has shifted toward a modern form, and has been transformed into e-logistic by assuming the characteristics of electronic business. Research studies of implications of e-logistic application have confirmed its considerable support in sustainable development and reverse logistics, and in detecting any defects that must be taken into account in its application. In the field of mechanical engineering industry, there have been more and more examples of successful introduction of e-logistics solutions to commercial production processes, but a huge space of its application still remains unexplored. The potential fields for application of elogistics in mechanical engineering, and its implications for ecology and sustainable development, are described and presented in the paper, analyzed from the micro and macro aspects based on systematic analysis of the available resources.

The aim is to investigate how digital security may lead to cyber resilience. In this regard the goal is to give perspectives for digital engagement aiming at achieving cyber resilience in today's information-communication environment. Digital risk management is a business performance issue that requires business leaders to make informed choices; it's not a technical problem buried in IT. Model-driven methodology and method have been used in the creation of the model scheme. Perspectives for digital engagement aiming to achieve cyber resilience in today's information-communication environment are given and the novel Digital Engagement Cyber Resilience Model is created. The paper provides an innovative approach to the modeling of cyber resilience taking into account components of digital engagement and digital security for modeling of systems' resilience in digital security perspectives and engagement.

Since mid-March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the learning processes and teaching metho... more Since mid-March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the learning processes and teaching methods for half a million students in the Republic of Croatia. Primary and secondary schools as well as higher education institutions had to fully adapt their learning processes to work in an online environment in a very short period. Conventional methods of education have not emphasized the great use of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) tools within the education system itself, while modern forms of learning and teaching represent indispensable use of ICT tools. Planning online teaching and learning is very demanding and complex. The mutual relations between teachers and students and their use and knowledge of ICT tools are a key factor in the success of its implementation. The education system in the Republic of Croatia has used existing tools and introduced new ones to ensure successful and quality online teaching. For the purpose of this research, following ICT tools have been selected as the research sample: Microsoft Teams and Yammer from Office 365 package, Google Classroom from G Suite for education and CARNET&#39;s (Croatian Academic and Research Network) Loomen. The research was conducted by the data analysis method of selected data also containing data from the CARNET system. Based on this analysis, with descriptive statistic method it can be determined the intensity of ICT tools use in the education system during COVID-19 compared to the same time last year. Therefore, this paper represents a contribution to the field of ICT science and opens the possibility for further research related to the use and effectiveness of ICT tolls in the education system.

Curriculum planning for foreign language teaching is a complex process. Since 2000, with the intr... more Curriculum planning for foreign language teaching is a complex process. Since 2000, with the introduction of the Bologna Process in higher education and the emergence of the Common European Framework for Languages, which aimed at multiculturalism and multilingualism, even greater emphasis has been placed on the effectiveness of curriculum design in foreign language teaching. In addition to curricular changes, technological changes in the educational landscape have been happening at a rapid pace, which suggests that educational institutions should integrate ICT (information and communication technologies) into teaching curricula in order to teach optimally since the use of ICT as a teaching aid helps in obtaining, exchanging, analysing and organizing information. The use of ICT makes it easier for teachers to use electronic versions of educational and teaching aids; availability of additional materials; performing tests and assessment; and conducting practice-oriented language skills exercises related to research activities. The use of ICT in foreign language learning not only increases opportunities for effective communication but stakeholders develop not only their language skills but also a broader knowledge of the successful use of ICT for learning strategies, and 21st century skills. New directions in education not only include ICT but the process of learning and teaching is completely transferred online. The aim of this paper is to show which phases should be completed and which concepts should be included in the planning and design of the curriculum so that it converges from the traditional form to the online form of learning and teaching. Comparative analysis of theoretical sources and previous research, a conceptual framework for planning and designing online curriculum has been defined and the perspectives for further interdisciplinary research have been indicated.

The use of ICT makes it easier for teachers to use electronic versions of educational and teaching aids; availability of additional materials; performing tests and assessment; and conducting practice-oriented language skills exercises related to research activities. The use of ICT in foreign language learning not only increases opportunities for effective communication but stakeholders develop not only their language skills but also a broader knowledge of the successful use of ICT for learning strategies, and 21st century skills. New directions in education not only include ICT but the process of learning and teaching is completely transferred online. The aim of this paper is to show which phases should be completed and which concepts should be included in the planning and design of the curriculum so that it converges from the traditional form to the online form of learning and teaching. Comparative analysis of theoretical sources and previous research, a conceptual framework for planning and designing online curriculum has been defined and the perspectives for further interdisciplinary research have been indicated.
