now on OPG) reference is mad... more When discussing the future of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (from now on OPG) reference is made to guessing the future. And who knows the future? You cannot predict what will happen, and more at the speed at which changes occur today. But it is possible to identify current scenarios, circumstances and trends that guide the policies, strategies and planning in the short and medium term of the International Olympic Committee (hereinafter IOC), of the candidate cities to organize the Games, of the distributors of the event and from other agents involved. In this chapter I expose what events are happening today in society that will mark the development of future OPGs, and the challenge posed by your organization. And from this perspective, it seemed convenient to me to consider the OPG of the future as an “Augmented Show” produced under the umbrella of the “Smart Governance”.
