I didn't think I would get here--I really thought I was done last year, but now, here I attempting to qualify to what would be my first and last AFA National Tournament.
To those of you who don't know speech and debate, to make it to any national tournament is prestigious (NFA, AFA, Phi Rho Pi, CCFN), but according to many, AFA gathers the best of the best. This is really my last chance...
Coaches have told me that District Quals are pretty easy--since those who qual'd at large (meaning they earned their way during the regular season) are the good people, and the ones left are either the ones who threw together events at the last minute, or are bad, but with my luck, these people will be great.
Wish me luck, eh? I'll be competing in prose, poetry, POI, and impromptu.
Oddly enough, AFA is during Easter Weekend, and my POI is on Judas Iscariot =P I am also performing Ragan Fox's poetry in my poetry program (one of his former students--Joe Guffey told me to be GAYER when performing his poetry).
(2011 Edit)- This was the weekend I met the fabulous Amber Kuiper.

It certainly has been a wild 20 years. I’ll be 44 in April this year. I need to see who’s still on LJ… I’ve been married, divorced, & remarried… I miss LJ and the days before FB
