Norman Rockwell Christmas

Hello crafty friends!   A little extra post from me today.  My last Christmas card for the year.

This was a class from Christopher Kerry.  He drew the lines for this image and 4 more, all inspired by Norman Rockwell.  Even though I usually print class images 5x7 or even a full page to learn techniques, this little one is 3.5".  I wanted to make a card out of these images, why waste time and paper printing off big images.

By keeping my Prismacolor pencils extra sharp, I could really get some details and depth in this small image.

Here's the inside.

Merry  Christmas!!!

Dr Digi: Xmas Pud Bag

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  Christmas is finally here!!  Hopefully you got those pesty Christmas cards out of the way and mailed.  Now, it's time to focus on the last minute Christmas wrapping.

Here's a cute little bag from Dr Digi called Xmas Puds.  I cut this bag and tag out by hand, scored and taped (or you can glue the 1 flap) in less than 30 minutes.  If you have a fancy cutting machine, Dr Digi has SVG and JPG files that come with this image.

It's cute and easy.  Will fit gift card and/or small trinkets.

It's hard to crank out a bunch of Christmas cards during the season.  I try to have half done before the holiday seasons begin, but that didn't work out this year.  This card was created using Alicia Bel's image Santa Claus Sleepyhead.  The image is colored with my Prismcolor pencils.  I try to make the design like a wrapped present.

Here's the inside.

Creatalicious #129 Antique Christmas

Hello crafty friends!  It's time for another wonderful challenge at Creatalicious, it's Anything Goes with the option Monochrome Christmas.  Sadly this will be my last challenge with Creatalicious, for I will be joining some new adventures at the beginning of the year.  Melanie and her team are sweet and wonderful to work with, I see you ladies around blogland :o)

I created a monochrome card using The Paper Shelter image December 26.   I tried to go for the sepia tones....do you know how hard it is to find the right blend with color pencils.  Yes, there is a sepia pencil, but you need depth, so different colors are needed.   After trying a few different color blends, I ended with this one.  The photo really doesn't do justice, the weather was gloomy outside.

Here's the inside.

Dr Digi: Christmas Band

Hello crafty friends!  Today is my post for Dr Digi and I'm trying to get my Christmas cards done, but time seems to be running out real fast.  I'm sure many of us are in the same boat.

Here's a card I created using X-Mas-No 1 image from Dr Digi.  The sentiment is from C.C. Designs and I drew in the music notes around it.  Music has been in my life for years and this image was a must have.  Even though none of these guys are playing a woodwind instrument, I still think they are as just cute.  The image was colored with my Prismacolor pencils.

Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #8: Flap Fold Christmas

Hello crafty friends!    I have 3 posts for you today!  Enjoy the inspiration :o)

In this post I'm sharing my card for Mix It Up! Challenge Blog, this month's challenge is all about the "Fancy Fold".

I'm not big on some "Fancy Fold" cards, mainly because I want the card to be able to stand on their own.  There are a lot of folds, that don't allow the cards to stand and I picked one of those to do for this post.  I went through my Pinterest folder of cards saved to see what I liked.  The Flap Fold card stood out and I wanted to give it a go.  There are several tutorials out there on blogland, so just watch a couple and make it your own.  The couple I watched, the punch on top was mainly off to one side, but I wanted mine in the middle.  Instead of using a punch (this is why they were off center), I used a die-cut, so I could center it.

The center punch is big enough where the tab will not hit it when opening and closing.  The snowman image from A Day For Daisies called Mr Snowman, is popped up, so it can be used as a tab to hold the front flap down (my snowman was a tad too tall, but it works).  He was also colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Here's the inside.  Hopefully you will give your cards a new fold or 2.

Dr Digi: It'll Be Okay

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  I'm also getting swamped with everything getting ready for Thanksgiving, since family will start arriving this weekend.  Lots of scrubbing and getting food for the army about to arrive.

I created a card using one of Dr Digi's newest images, Hank the Hopeless Hunter.  We all have days like Hank.  Looks like the ducks are having fun and Hank should just be friends with them, like a duck whisper.  I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and sponged the background with distress ink.  The sentiment is from a MFT stamp set.

Dr Digi: Cheeky

Hello crafty friends!  I have 4 wonderful posts for you today, so enjoy.

This is my Dr Digi post for today.

Dr Digi has some new and fun images to work with in his store.  I created a little pouch/pill box from Dr Digi's paper (it's 7.5x8).  Using one of the newest image, Emogeez Cool for the image and sentiment.  The are very easy to use, because they are already precolored.  Just print, cut and paste.  I did use photoshop to color in the sentiment.

It can fit a whole lot of candy inside there :o)

Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #7: Stenciling

Hello again crafty friends!  I have 4 posts for today, so enjoy :o)

This post is for Mix It Up! Challenge Blog.  For the month of November we are looking for projects that use "Stenciling".

I'll be honest, I do not have stencils (or maybe there's 1 hiding somewhere in my craft closet).  So, I created my own using die-cuts.  For one of the stencils, I decided to add texture by using modeling paste and some alcohol pigment colors.  The 2nd stencil I created, I really didn't want to clash with the texture paste, so I sprayed it with pearl and distress ink.  Die cut a sentiment, to make it very simple.

It was very odd not coloring up an image to do a project :oD

Here's the inside.

Dr Digi: Selfie

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here with my Dr Digi post today.  Yup, trying to get ahead of that never ending Christmas card list.  I did find a couple small stacks that Dr Digi's elves hid on my in the years past, so they should help out.

I'm using the image Selfie Santa, which is SO in today's society.  I don't like pics of myself, so...I really don't like selfies.  I do love this image of Santa and Frosty, 2 pals just chilling together.  The image is colored with my Prismacolor pencils.

Here's the inside.  ( I couldn't bend it all the way due to the snowflake on front )

We are half-way through our Anything Goes/optional Witchy/Autumn colors challenge at Let's Craft and Create.  Hopefully you can post your Autumn creations in our challenge.

Dr Digi: Scary Pumpkin Bag

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  Scary time are approaching and getting crafty is the time.

I created this cute bag to throw some goodies in for teachers and/or friends, using Dr Digi's Scary Pumpkin image.  This image won't break the bank either.  I colored it with my Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment is also from Dr Digi's Halloween Sentiment

I had this fishnet yarn hanging around, actually you have to stretch it out to get it to look like that, but it's better than some filly lace....lol.  Of course, some monster googly eyes needed to be added.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter my bag in the following challenges:

Mix It Up #6: Watercoloring

Hello crafty friends!  Today is a new month and that means you get 3 times the post, yup 3 posts to start your month off right.  Love to CraftLove to Scrap & Mix It Up challenge blogs all go live today with new challenges.

This month at Mix It Up Challenge Blog it's Anything Goes + option of Watercoloring.

I decided to get my watercolor pencils out for this challenge.  There are many different techniques to do watercoloring on images.  Sometimes I color the image with the waterpencils and come back through with my water brush.  Then, I do the water brush to the pencil to get some areas deeper in colors.  I think the brush to pencil works the best at times.  You can also get the pencil wet and then color, then take a water brush over the area.  It's really a preference.  The image is from Redonkadoodles called Floral Heart Sentiment, it comes with 14 different sentiments inside the heart.

Here's the inside in which I used a Stampin' Up sentiment.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

stamps: Redonkadoodles: Floral Heart Sentiment Package, Stampin' Up: God's Blessings
