Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog - #44 When Nature Calls

Hello crafty friends and welcome to another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  This will be the last challenge for the year.  For the next 2 weeks, we want to see things you would find out in nature, living or inanimate.  Remember we want to see some stamping with either rubber/clear or digital.

We have a wonderful sponsor for this challenge.

The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate.

I got to work with the beautiful image from Stitchy Bear called Winterville by Lil Diva Stamps.  It's a black and white image with lots of gray shading, so I did very little coloring.  Just enough that it didn't over power the beauty of it.

I mainly tried to play with the papers. I believe the papers are from Hobby Lobby, all of them.  Added a little sentiment and it was done.

Here's the inside.

thanks for looking and reading :o)  Merry Christmas!!

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

stamps used: Stitchy Bear Winterville, Unity Stamp Co Entwined Poinsettia & Believe in Miracles
paper used: Hobby Lobby, the Paper Studio blue & brown paisley

Scrapping4Fun - #32 Winter/Summer

Hello and welcome to another challenge at Scrapping4fun.  Hopefully you are getting everything ready for Christmas, because it's coming up fast.  I love the family time and can't wait until we have our cookie decorating fun.  Every year I bake and most of it is given away.  I bake a bunch of sugar cookies and the kids and I see who can decorate the best, unique and funny cookies.  It's my favorite part of Christmas!

Back to the challenge.  We have an inspiration pic for you.

After seeing the kitty cat, I knew which stamp to use.  It's been sitting in the box for awhile and has never seen ink.

This little cutie from My Favorite Things, called Take the Plunge.  They no longer sell Doodle Garden stamps there and she closed her online shop because she had a busy schedule with new contacts with her Doodle Garden images.  You can still find some online through other companies.  I stamped her a few times, so I could layer the image.  This cutie was colored with my water color pencils and regular color pencils. The big dot paper behind the image reminded me of watermelon.

Here you can see the layers.  The flowers were a pain, I had to make sure I had the right flower laying on top before I glued it down.  I like how the 3D looks, but it can take some time fussy cutting all the pieces you want to layer.

Here's the inside.

thanks for looking and reading :o)   Merry Christmas !

The Male Room - #25 Christmas

Happy middle of the week to everyone!!  I know everyone is on the Christmas countdown and running around trying to finish last minute shopping.  Slow down, it's time for another challenge at The Male Room.  This will be the last challenge for the year.  For the next 2 weeks, we want to manly Christmas projects.

What man or boy doesn't like a good snowball fight?  I used this cute image from Unity Stamp Co called Worth the Fight.  What coloring there was to do, I used my water color pencils and regular pencils.  Of course some Stickles had to be used for the snow.  I had some snowflakes cutout, but it seemed too much for a manly card and went with the twine instead.

Here's the inside. I thought the sentiment was perfect for the manly man.  The sentiment is also from Unity.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #43 Shape Shift!

It's November and the Christmas countdown has begun!  Where has the year gone?  I know...too fast.

It's time for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks we want to challenge you, not to make a square or rectangle card.  There are SO many fancy die-cuts out there and other fancy tools, I'm sure you can come up with something gorgeous.

We have 2 fabulous sponsors for this challenge.

Lacy Sunshine will give the winner 3 images of choices.

A Day for Daisies will give the winner a $12 gift certificate

I created a card with the image from A Day for Daisies called To Grammy's House.  I was going to make a sled shape card, but I thought it would be too much.  This is what I ended up with .  I colored the image with my water color and regular color pencils.  Made sure there were some die-cuts and a little bling, since it's Christmas time.  The metal hardware, holding the ribbon, I painted white to go with the card.

To make the snow, I used some paint and thick glitter.  Stickles were used in the falling snow.

Here's the inside.  The sentiment is from Amy R Stamps called Frosty Sentiments.

Scrapping4Fun - #31 Anything Goes

Happy Thanksgiving!!  I hope everyone has had a fabulous day with family :o)

Because the holiday season is in full swing, we have an Anything Goes challenge at Scrapping4Fun.  So, upload your crafty projects.

I had this image Tender Thoughts from A Day of Daisies that I painted with Gelatos.  I don't know if I'm totally happy with the results, but it was a learning process.  Trying new things is fun and I will probably try this technique again.  I couldn't decide on how to use this image after I painted it, but it became a card.  I had the butterfly fabric sitting around for awhile, actually most of the stuff I used is several years old.

I fell in love with the butterfly bling years ago and it seemed fitting for this card.  Some flowers with pearls were added.  I just hate using things when I only have one of them, just want to make sure I use them for the perfect project.  I'm sure many of you are the same way.

Here's the inside.

The Male Room - Ribbon, Make It Masculine

Happy almost Turkey Day!!!  My family is here and I have a full house.  That also means lots of cooking and eating and telling old stories.  Love family time.

It's time for another challenge at The Male Room.  For the next 2 weeks, we want see if you can make ribbon look masculine.

I used an image from Stampin'Up that I got years ago and thought it was SO cute.  It's called For Father.  This card is very simple;  Kraft paper for the base, 15¢ discount paper for the main design paper and a little pop of color with the blue.  The ribbon was strung through some metal hardware.  I did make a mistake, when the kids get wild it happens.  I forgot to lay the ribbon under the corner piece, so I had to cut the ribbon to meet up with the corner and it worked out better (no lump under the paper now).

Here's the inside.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog - #42 Say It In Color!!

Happy Monday crafty bloggers!!  I hope you are ready for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks we want see sentiments that are not in black, but put them in color.  I know it can be a challenge for some, but give it a try.

We have 2 fabulous sponsors for this challenge.

The winner for Stitchy Bears Digi Outlet will win a $10 gift certificate.

The winner for Sweet Stamps will win a $10 gift certificate as well.

The image In Her Easter Bonnet Silhouette 6005 was stamped for my use for this challenge.  I went ahead and colored the little bit of white there was on this image with water color and regular color pencils.  I thought pearls would help dress up her hat too.  I didn't want to overdo the image.  Since it was a victorian/vintage style image, I put some beautiful metal corner pieces in the corner.  Some fancy ribbon was needed as well.

I had a couple of womanly quotes and settled on this one from Unity Stamps called A Woman of Strength.  It took a couple of different inks to decided which looked okay with the paper I already choosen.  Looking kinda plain, I added a satin ribbon behind the sentiment (it's really not brown, but golden).

Here's the inside.

Scrapping4Fun - #30 Bling

Hello fellow crafters!  The Holiday season is fastly approaching here in the States.  Thanksgiving to fatten us up and then Christmas to fatten us up even more.  My family will start coming in next week, so it's going to get busy with me cooking for everyone.
There is always time for a fabulous challenge.  For the next 2 weeks at Scrapping4Fun Challenges, we want to see some "BLING".

I went with a bling tree, due to the inspiration picture.

This tree has alot of bling and is the inspiration picture.

The image is from Stampin' Up from the stamp set called Snow Swirled.  I just think this image is beautiful and I have used it in the past.  As you can see, I added lots of fancy die-cuts to compliment the tree.

Besides the bling on the tree, there is also some around the sentiment and a brad wrapped around the ribbon.  I thought about added more, but I was worried about it being too much.  I also didn't want traditional Christmas colors, just wanted something different.

Here's the inside.  I decided to make a few more to give as my Christmas cards and thought about adding the ribbon in the inside of the card.  (Without the brad and crunched up part, just leave it flat.)  I'll have to see what it looks like and of course a Christmas sentiment will be added.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

The Male Room - Time

Hello fellow bloggers!  It's time for another challenge at The Male Room.  For the next 2 weeks, we want to see your manly creations on the theme - Time.

I couldn't decide which stamp to use for this challenge.  But somehow settled on this wine stamp from Unity Stamp Co, called It's Wine O'clock.  I've had these stamps sitting around for a bit and they needed to be inked.  I used some cork ribbon on the side, because a wine card needed some cork on it somewhere.

I did use clear embossing powder on the clock.

Here's the inside.  I was going to use this image for the front of the card, but I thought it seemed too busy. So, it ended inside with a sentiment.  This stamp set is also from Unity called Lets Uncork.

Have a great rest of the week and I hope to see you in the challenge!

Goodness sake, where is this year going.  It's hard to believe it November already and the Holiday Season is upon us.  UGH!  It's Monday, it's cool outside and time for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks we want to see some BLING!

The Paper Nest Dolls winner will receive a $25 gift certificate good for digital and rubber stamps.

For this challenge I got to use the image Bubble Bath Ellie.  Very cute image and easy to add some bling, with all those bubbles.  I know my boys have had the bathtub overflowing with bubbles on more than one occasion.  For the bubbles I used 3 different Stickles and Liquid Pearl.  I colored the rest of the image with water color and regular color pencils.

Here's a little more bling.  I thought it look like the bubbles in a way.

Closer shot of the image.  I even used 3-d glossy accent on the water by the soap.  The image layer and the layer under the image, are both popped up.

Here's the complete inside of the card.  I put the sentiment on the side and added a blank side panel to write a little note.

Scrapping 4 Fun Challenge #29 Christmas

Hello crafty friends and welcome to another challenge at Scrapping4Fun Challenges.

We have a wonderful inspiration picture (I love vintage Santas).  You'll have 2 weeks to create a Christmas project.  Can't wait to see the creations for this challenge!

I went to one of my favorite companies for a digi image of an old timey St. Nick.  I love the realistic images from this company, Just InkLined.  I used the digital image Letter From Santa.  The image was colored with my water color and regular color pencils. There are a couple of different pattern papers behind the image, one old time ornaments and an old script tissue paper.  The sentiment is from a rubber stamp set from Unity Stamp Co, called Entwined Poinsettia

I couldn't decided between ribbon or the snowflakes on the top corner. As you can see the snowflakes won.  Some stickles was added for the smoke from the candle and 3D accent to St. Nick's glasses.

Here's the inside.  I'll add a Christmas message before sending.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #40 - Seeing Dots

It's hard to believe we are half-way through October!  The leaves are finally changing here, so Fall Festivals are in full swing and so much fun to do.  I love the Autumn and everything about it.  I guess that's why I loved coloring this cutie from Lacy Sunshine for our challenge.  For the next 2 weeks at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog, we want to see some dots on your projects.  Remember there must be some stamping, being rubber/clear or digital.

We have 2 wonderful sponsors for the is challenge.  They both have some great images.

Dr. Digi's House of Stamps will give the winner 2 images of choice.

Lacy Sunshine Stamps will give the winner 3 images of choice.  Thanks you wonderful sponsors :o)

This is such a beautiful image and I loved coloring it.  I usually don't color hair black, because I still struggle with getting the right highlights, but I wanted black hair for my image.  Anyway, I used my water color and regular color pencils for this image, Rory Collecting Autumn Leaves from Lacy Sunshine.

I like when the leaves are bright, so I made sure she collected some vibrant leaves. There are some dots on the patches and sunflower centers.

Wanted to add a sunflower on the card to match the sunflowers in the image.  You can see there are lots of dots on the paper, flower center and the ribbon is dots.

Here's the inside...still more dots :o)

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
