It finally looks like autumn outside of my window. But its March.
Silly Florida. The trees get confused (see the plum trees blossom in like, December), and now the weather's all wonky. Aren't we supposed to get this much rain in summer, or yanno, hurricane season?
I need to post more often.
In any case, I'll be at MegaCon this weekend. My original costume plans fell through (procrastination on Wiccan and a missing latex order for Asher), so this past weekend was hastily gathering materials for Death (Sandman) and Harry Dresden (combination of book, tv and comic versions of The Dresden Files). A lot of it is in the realm of closet cosplay, unfortunately, considering the casual clothing look of both characters, but two main positives are: 1) Sunday, I get to have boobs, and 2) I make a mean 5 o'clock shadow. *grins*
This is my first time working with wigs, and I'm kinda happy with how they're turning out. (I've worn a chinadoll black bob wig out before, but that doesn't count.) The past couple of weeks have involved making hair wefts for extension clips (for my own hair) and sew-in extensions for the glamrock!mullet thing Death has going on. I like wefting, and wig-working so far. I haven't had to delve into the realm of hair products yet, so I might decide to hate this part of costuming later. But cutting loose extensions hasn't been as traumatic as cutting fabric, though that may be because of the inexpensiveness, and thus a plus.
Still have Dresden's jewelry to go. I'll have to either make it or find ppl with similar types -- I'm sick of spending money. Seriously. Another 90-100$ to go for hotel and tickets, and then all that merchandise... *sigh*
