brokeback mountain

I saw Brokeback Mountain last night.

//speechless//

That was a spectacular film. I was sobbing off and on, afterwards, which is rare for me. The dreams, the fears and the realities present in the movie were... painfully true.

I'm not going to say anymore on that, because, well, see my comment of "speechless". My friends and I were silent for quite a while after the credits rolled.

I will mention, however, that it lacks the sex that I think most people assumed would be in it. There were, what, two sex scenes, one of them heterosexual, and two scenes with female chest nudity (is that considered frontal nudity? *ponders*). I mean, sex was implied in more than those two scenes, but nothing pornographic. *sigh* Now I have to get the dvd for my sisters, since my mother won't let them see it. Hannah, I may have to ban, because if it got me sobbing at the emotional breadth, I think it may have as great an effect on her [mental stability] mind as romance novels had for me... (for those who don't know, that's not a good thing...). Plus, the munchkin's only just thirteen. Erin on the other hand, is sixteen...

Any comments or opinions? On the movie, or on the viewing age...
