Providing solutions to these problems are of utmost importance. This paper presents a brief review of agricultural robots with emphasis on outdoor mobile robots. The review looks at the history and the present trends in the field and subsequently highlights the design essentials for an agricultural mobile robot. The design challenges such as the dynamic farm enviroment, the path planning and navigation problem is discussed. Current state of developed robots is also breifly higlighted.

They are invaluable machines in laboratories (higher institutions and research centres), mining and construction industries. Available crushers are imported and very expensive. This has pushed some workers around the country to crush stones with crude materials and manual labour, to meet the demand of the various sectors while neglecting the hazards involved. A hammer mill has been designed with due considerations to standard design requirements, local content and cost. The power required to crush granite with the desired through put of 400kg/h was found to be 5,480W. Major factors considered for the material selection are the mechanical properties, wear of materials, fabrication requirement and cost. The machine was fabricated with locally available materials and tested. The actual capacity was found to be 301 kg/h after the performance evaluation of the machine, and through-put efficiency was found to be 75.4 %. The crushed products were well graded with 1.89 coefficient of gradation and uniformity coefficient of 10.22. The machine was produced at a cost of two hundred and forty five thousand, two hundred naira (₦245,200.00 {US$817.33}).

The mechanical structure of a robot manipulator consists of a sequence of links interconnected by means of joints to form a kinematic chain; its development requires modelling, planning and control. Designing the robot arm requires indebt mathematical modelling and simulation tools. This appraisal has highlighted the kinematic equations, the basic components selection requirements and challenges researchers face presently in this field of study.

They are invaluable machines in laboratories (whether for institutions, government or private owned), mining and construction industries. Locally available machineries that are effective and affordable are very scarce. This has pushed some workers around the country to crush stone using crude materials and manual labour, neglecting the hazards involved so as to meet the demand of the various sectors. A hammer mill has been designed with due considerations to standard design requirements and cost to cater to this need. The power required to deliver the through put efficiency of the machine was determined to be 5,480W. The rotor speed is obtained as 1289.1 rpm. The major factors considered for the material selection are the mechanical properties, wear of materials, environmental properties, fabrication properties and cost. The actual capacity was obtained to be 301 kg/h after the performance evaluation of the machine, and it has a 98 % material recovery rate and 75.25 % machine efficiency. The machine has a production cost of ₦245,200.

The chamber will be heated up to 105°C for the roasting process to occur. This paper is focused on the thermo-structural analysis of the chamber to ascertain whether the material can withstand the stress generated in the process. Thermal structural analysis is the application of the finite element method (FEM) to calculate the temperature distribution within a solid structure, which is due to the thermal inputs (heat loads), outputs (heat loss), and thermal barriers (thermal contact resistance) in a design. SolidWorks 2019 thermal and static simulation tool was used for the investigation. The maximum von-mises stress obtained is 317 MPa which is within safe working stress of the material.
