So it's been a while.Sorry. I got blindsided by menopause and well, I'm trying to get around it. Right now it's holding my muses and creatively hostage and has been for a while now. It also seems to have sucked all the energy out of me as well. Bitch.
I just got my desktop back after the video card died on me last week. This rig is seven years old and sure, I'm due for a new one. But the thought of getting a new one set up makes me want to weep. Getting all my software put back on, updates loaded, everything transferred. Ugh. I can't deal with that right now. So yeah, a new video card seems to have done the trick. Keep your fingers crossed.
I still love my job- medical chart auditing is fascinating and I learn more and more everyday. And having a really nice boss certainly helps. We moved our offices from our downtown location (the neighborhood was sketchy at best) to one of the suburbs. The commute is longer for me again, but I really like the location so much better. And I'm no longer crammed into a corner with my boss's aide. Believe me, we were pretty much living in sin we were that on top of each other. Now the three of us have a big private room all to ourselves. It's quiet and secluded and I breathe so much easier. Now that we survived the huge change in the medical billing world called ICD-10, I can focus on adding to my credentials. (It's not like I'm writing or anything here so no excuses.)
I am vidding though. I've got one now I really like and I keep chipping away at it. It's at least halfway there. If I can finish it in time, it will go to RevelCon which has been very kind to me. I've now won three times there with one Tour of Duty and two from Hawaii Five-0. I've already submitted one but was asked if I had anymore so we'll see if I can pull off this other one in time. If not, there is always next year.
Speaking of cons, I know that ConTxt is rolling back around this year. I think it's in July this year and it's in a new location too. But I was less than impressed with the last one and the one before that was okay. I have people I would love to see again but honestly, I think I'm going to bow out of it this time around. I had a very good time at 
wincon back in October with decynthus and met some really awesome people. (And premiered a Five-0 vid there) Honestly, I felt more welcome there. So I'm going to sit this ConTxt out I think, save the money and vacation time (I'd have to use 2 days). And honestly, July is not the best month- I go to Charlotte for a week as it is.
There is a lot more, but none of it is that interesting. Not that the above is either, but... at least I sat down and said something. btw... Go Broncos!

lovekeller for the use of your laptop. I'm such a loser from top to bottom, I swear. I'm just so disorganized with starting the new job this week and such. I thought I had this all under control and in the end, I left my laptop, notebooks and drives all back home so I can't post, vid or write. Oy. Lovekeller is letting me borrow her laptop while she does some con volunteering- thank you so much.But because I wasn't driving, I left the laptop behind because I didn't pack stuff into the car the night before. That's my fault. Not only that, but I didn't bring much of any of my fandom stuff. Thank god I did bring my Kindle and my Five-0 T-Shirts. Anything after that is well, probably still back in upstate NY. *sigh*
We went to dinner last night with Lovekeller, her sister and the rest of the gang and after con registration, we went to the late showing of the new X-Men movie. Loved the movie but it's hard to go wrong with both Patrick Stewart AND Hugh Jackman. I mean, really.
This morning I got up way before Decynthus and had breakfast with Lovekeller. Now everyone is off to panels and I'm going to watch her stuff and enjoy the use of her laptop while I'm doing so.
I swear the the next entry from me will be much less disjointed. But really- we all know that DC is a scatter brain anyway.

I was so close to having my Five-0 vid done before I came. But I've been so hot and sticky at home and bit annoyed with everything around me that I haven't had the energy or will to finish it or to write. Coming here let me get back into it and I got the whole thing wrapped up by evening. I haven't done a vid in quite a while so it feels so good to have this accomplished. I made it with the idea it that I'm putting it up for some upcoming cons including WinCon and Contxt (which is in June). But I will be posting it here this weekend, probably tomorrow or Monday. I want to let it sit and then go back and see if I need to fix anything.
Now I need to decide my next vidding project.
This afternoon, after going out for Chinese, I'm going to write. I've been so incredibly stalled and very unhappy with myself because of it. I'll try No Surrender first but if that doesn't talk to me, I'll see what I can jump start. Something has to break loose. I hate that I'm not getting anything done!
Thunderstorms rolled through last night. I lay in bed listening to them. I love the sound of the rain on the roof and grumble of thunder.
Oh, and we've been watching Crossing Lines. I've watched it right along but Kit has been catching up. I really like it but I don't seeing it being picked up past the summer. I can hope I'm wrong. So many damaged characters, oh my.

The vidshow was a hoot and probably my favorite was, of all things, a White Collar vid called "I will be F**king You" which I died over. I want this song so I can vid it for Five-0. There were a nice variety of vids and fandoms- sadly no Five-0 and of course no ToD. :P But still a lot of fun.

We went up to
krisserci5 and lovekeller 's room to watch a new show on USA called Common Law. Very cute. We had a blast there talking fandom in general and then it went to Harry Potter. Of which I'm like one of the last five people on the planet that has NOT read the books and/or seen the movies. (Yeah, really, that's me.)Went to one panel this morning- character typing. Interesting. Anything to do with character is always interesting to me though. It was across from the Avengers panel which was highly attended.
In all of this, I'm still squeezing my walks in. After that panel and since there isn't one I wanted to go to for now, I went and got a couple of miles in. We are at the edge of a residential neighborhood and so I just walk that way. Nice and shady and side walks so it's a comfortable walk.
The piece of art I've got a bid out on- I'm still the only bidder. If no one else bids on it, I get it without it going to auction tomorrow. It's a nice Susan Lovett piece- Steve and Danny. Steve is done better than Danny but I like it anyway. And I have no Five-0 fan art so it will be nice to get a good piece.
Oh, this convention is lousy with knitters- LOL. So

Been to three panels. Two I enjoyed, the other was okay but I could have skipped it.
Disco Duck is tonight. We'll see how that goes. I'm sure we will do dinner before that. Last night it was Red Lobster.

Did a lot of gardening this weekend. Got most of my flowers in pots.
Got the entire veggie garden in. (Then something came in last night and mowed my beautiful parsley down. ARRRRGH!) But I have a lovely variety including 4 tomatoes, 3 squash, 2 peppers, 5 herbs, pole beans and 2 different kinds of cutting/leaf lettuce. Go me.
Still working and fleshing out the outline for Higher Ground- a Gwenna project.
Continue to move Glimpses along and I'm in the home stretch of that one.
I should be posting my first songvid in a while here shortly. It's just taking forever for YouTube to upload tonight for some reason.

Major snow storm expected here tomorrow night into Tuesday morning. Great way to start the new year- a lousy commute to a job I'm less than thrilled with lately.
