Notes: Let's face it, Danny's character has changed a lot over the last six seasons, especially over the last three. And I don't like where they've taken the character. Although there are scenes/clips from all six seasons, the Danny here is the Danny I fell in love with from the first three seasons and the relationship that he and Steve had. That is what I wanted to capture here.

My boss is also having a new grand baby- her second- and so I'm now picking out a pattern and some colors for her. That baby isn't due until September, so I've got some time. (Because I'm the world's SLOWEST knitter out there!!!)

So it's been a while.Sorry. I got blindsided by menopause and well, I'm trying to get around it. Right now it's holding my muses and creatively hostage and has been for a while now. It also seems to have sucked all the energy out of me as well. Bitch.
I just got my desktop back after the video card died on me last week. This rig is seven years old and sure, I'm due for a new one. But the thought of getting a new one set up makes me want to weep. Getting all my software put back on, updates loaded, everything transferred. Ugh. I can't deal with that right now. So yeah, a new video card seems to have done the trick. Keep your fingers crossed.
I still love my job- medical chart auditing is fascinating and I learn more and more everyday. And having a really nice boss certainly helps. We moved our offices from our downtown location (the neighborhood was sketchy at best) to one of the suburbs. The commute is longer for me again, but I really like the location so much better. And I'm no longer crammed into a corner with my boss's aide. Believe me, we were pretty much living in sin we were that on top of each other. Now the three of us have a big private room all to ourselves. It's quiet and secluded and I breathe so much easier. Now that we survived the huge change in the medical billing world called ICD-10, I can focus on adding to my credentials. (It's not like I'm writing or anything here so no excuses.)
I am vidding though. I've got one now I really like and I keep chipping away at it. It's at least halfway there. If I can finish it in time, it will go to RevelCon which has been very kind to me. I've now won three times there with one Tour of Duty and two from Hawaii Five-0. I've already submitted one but was asked if I had anymore so we'll see if I can pull off this other one in time. If not, there is always next year.
Speaking of cons, I know that ConTxt is rolling back around this year. I think it's in July this year and it's in a new location too. But I was less than impressed with the last one and the one before that was okay. I have people I would love to see again but honestly, I think I'm going to bow out of it this time around. I had a very good time at 
wincon back in October with decynthus and met some really awesome people. (And premiered a Five-0 vid there) Honestly, I felt more welcome there. So I'm going to sit this ConTxt out I think, save the money and vacation time (I'd have to use 2 days). And honestly, July is not the best month- I go to Charlotte for a week as it is.
There is a lot more, but none of it is that interesting. Not that the above is either, but... at least I sat down and said something. btw... Go Broncos!

Today everything gets started at after the opening ceremonies at 10:30. There isn't any morning panels that interests me but I've got a couple things marked out for the afternoon and the vid show is at 4. That I'm excited about of course as I've got my newest Five-0 vid in that. :)
I'll try to be good and actually do updates but I've been so horrible at this lately that I wouldn't hold your breath.

henrycat will tell you I've needed a new mattress for years. But I'd been unwilling to get one for a few reasons. And really, what I really wanted was very expensive so I felt I needed to wait. But lately I've been waking up in a lot more pain than is easily bearable. (putting weight back on has made that clear) And I'm sleeping lousy. I wake up hurting and exhausted every day and well, enough is enough. I finally caved this morning and took the plunge. Yeah, I bought a Tempurpedic. God they are expensive but it is an investment. Of course the salesman tries me out on the $8000 mattress first and OMG is was heaven!! But that was so not happening either. In the end I spent a lot but hey, this should be it for me for many, many years so it's done. So yeah, HCat, you can stop rolling your eyes at me. It's like when I finally caved and got glasses. I'd reached my threshold of pain and there you have it.

I'm devastated of course. And this is the first time in almost 30 years we do not have an orange tabby in the house. We have the girls still so we aren't without lovely kitties. But he was my special old man and I miss him dearly.

With that thought, I've started walking again. My streak is 2 1/2 weeks right now and I'm building back up to my 3 to 3 1/2 mile daily jaunt. The practice I work for sponsors a Prostate Cancer walk and I signed onto one of the teams. It's 3 1/2 miles so I'm working my way fast back to that as it's June 27th. Wish me luck. Speaking of the practice I work for- we are moving our offices. Sort of.
Right now I'm located just off of downtown in a not so nice neighborhood. And we are in with the doctors and clinical and it's very, very crowded. So they found us new digs on the far side of town from me and all of the billing, administration and accounting are going there- which would include me. My boss brought us over Thursday to check out our space which is going to be nice and private. I'll no longer be sitting on top of my companion nor crammed into a corner. That will be refreshing. And since I work with audits and spreadsheets that people should not be peering over my shoulder and looking at because it's NONE OF THEIR DAMN BUSINESS- it will be nice not to have to keep blanking my screen every time someone decides to hang out by my desk. The trade off is I'm back to a long commute again. *sigh*. But it will be in a nicer part of town with decent parking. And I'll just be a down the street from
Memorial weekend is next week which means I'm off to Kit's for the long weekend. And that it's Media West. Two of my vids are going to be shown there this year- a first for me as I've never had any shown. Thank you to
candyjbshsc for her help in arranging to get them. Our one older cat- Qui-gon has been sick these past few weeks which has taken up a lot of my energy. But we think we finally have him turned around. He seems genuinely happier and is poking around the house and laying at the back slider door in front of the screen, letting the breeze blow over him. Two weeks ago we had said goodbye and I thought I'd not see him again but the vet told us to hang in and we think we have him on the right track now. Thank god. I'm not ready to let him go. He's 16 but we're hoping we have a couple more years of happiness with him.
Still struggling to write. Hoping that I can really turn that around and jumpstart it when I go to Kit's.
kapuahi is hanging in with me with our blogging project despite the fact that I am failing miserably. I hope to have that Rachel entry to you by the end of the day- dear one! I'm almost there! (after like 5 false starts... sigh)- Current Mood:
