Finally unblocked my HP/FFVII story, L which has been hovering on chapter two for ages. Decided to leave it as is (with a very evil cliffhanger) at about 4000 words and suddenly, with the promise of a new chapter and a minor over-night timeskip the writing just started to flow again. Wrote over 3000 words yesterday and it keeps coming.
I'd like to personally slap myself on behalf of everyone who's reading 'A Reason to Live' which has been on hiatus for so long. Hopefully the mounting inspiration for L will carry over into ARtL too because frankly I'm sick of running head long into a brick wall with that story. It makes it even worse that it's the only story I'm publishing at the moment, all the others I'm fine stalling with.
So, this month it's been about 3000 words fanfiction, 10,000 original. Anyone know where you can get one of those cool progress bars?
Lots of things to do and sleep to catch up on but instead I'm commenting everyone on LJ, writing up the kid's story notes (I'm throwing in time-travel next) and actually working on my fanfiction. That tells you how bad it's gotten.
A Reason to Live is still being difficult and refuses to be written even with my twisted perception of the characters and all my muse wants to write is sadistic!Hojo and abused!Sephiroth in L's second chapter which I'm currently at 2561 words on. I've also finished the first chapter and prologue (and this time I am leaving it alone dammit!) which stand at a respectable 7536 words and counting.
I'll get another burst of writing pangs tomorrow since my work will be even more urgent then. Maybe I'll finally get rid of that block on Reaper's Conscience or write more of Winging It than a stupid, awkward opening and a fan service-esque bath scene that's seems too shota like on principle despite actually being written innocently. *Sighs*

I'd like to start off saying that I love ARtL, ARtL is my brain child, my eldest offspring that hasn't run away from home *glares at Demonic Salvation* but sometimes I really want a break from a fic, especially when I have so many wonderful stories on the backburner which I'm losing touch with. Maybe I should do a rotation or a poll based circulation like kirallie... I really want to work on something else; 'Death Prevails' for instance which has so much potential but I've had no time to write it up or set a detailed plan for it.
11 main stories, 2 newbies, 2 drabble series, 2 oldies in need of rehashing... I only have so much inspiration, why must it spread itself around so many fics!?!
*Sighs* Maybe it's just because I'm exhausted from posting today and a little peeved that I've only got 4 reviews for all my hard work, I'll tell myself the over 300 hits is an error and I'll get more feedback when the time difference kicks in and all the Americans log on.
In other news, I'm currently planning a trip to Singapore for the Summer, I have family over there and my aunt needs help looking after the kids during their holidays, after that I'm free for a couple of weeks to go to JAPAN!!! *happy dance* I already have friends telling me to bring them back stuff. I told them fine but only if they pay for it- I wanna get stuff tooooo! >__<
I have had one of the worst busiest weeks of my life: German folio piece, power point presentation, 3000 word group essay, 2000 word individual essay, Japanese night classes, TWO heavy 19th century novels to read, three long textbook chapters on top of weekly revision, sport meets and trying to catch some sleep... and failing.
I know I'm already a week behind my extended deadline but when I have 40%, hell 60% of a modual grade hanging on a single essay/presentation I'm going to have to prioritise if I don't want to get kicked off my course. Plus a good deal of these deadlines were sprung upon me, the presentation for instance was bumped forward and we had only a couple of days to prepare to basically TEACH 20 minutes of a lecture we knew nothing about. *Twitches*
I currently have 3041 words for the next chapter of 'A Reason to Live' that I know I'm going to use, along with a further 1200 words which will either be near the end of this chapter or somewhere during the next one. (What's that you say, a buffer word count?! *Faints*) As it stands I'll probably end up with close to 8000 words if I add eveything to the three extra scenes I'm planning to write (I have outlines! *Faints again*) and perhaps edit/elongate some of the scenes I already have. I'd rather be late than be rushed, like my mockery of a Jane Eyre essay... *TwitchTwitch*
I'm going to get writing again tomorrow, both on ARtL and the redraft of the first chapter of 'L', another thing I may cut down as it's now a 9000 word monster, practically two chapters, and aren't starting chapters meant to be shorter?>_< I still need a bit of restructuring to go, I have a wonderful idea for a young Sephiroth taking down his first dragon *shivershiver* I wish I was more awake, I'd write it right now if I had the energy.
Anyway, since I've had more story alerts and story faves since the last chapter got posted I'd better leave something cryptic to make you hate me even more... ARtL Chapter Three: Pandora's Box Summary Teaser:
Ayame gets her screen time. Yuusuke gets none...really. Kurama is uncharacteristically confused. Koenma is characteristically confused. The orange ogre gets a name. A long distance one sided relationship starts to form while another begins to break apart. Hiei kicks ass and takes names. And Harry's past life as a puppy kicker gravitates all the crap in the universe directly towards him.
And stuff.
Some of the above teasers may take place in the chapter after but if that happens then the title will no longer apply and I'll have to switch around. -_-
YOSH! THE POWER OF YOUTH! *Falls into bed and doesn't move*
Feel free to poke me with sticks, you know, to check I'm still alive.
Hmmm, I've got no idea when I'm having dinner, either around 10pm or 5 in the afternoon...it's scary there's a solid 5 hour block where I can't grab a bite to eat. -_-
In fanfiction news: I am giving into the awesomeness that is Crisis Core and with a few tweeks I can add it to the L storyline, I already have lots of scenes in my head involving Harry and Sephiroth meeting Angeal and Genesis for the first time. *Squees*
A Reason to Live, Chapter Three: 'Pandora's Box' currently stands at 1564 words. It is on schedule... really.
Literary two minutes after trying to edit 'Finding Your Feet' of A Reason to Live (Chapter One) I was informed that I'd re-uploaded the prologue by accident instead of the edited chapter (thanks to the 3 people that pointed this out via review and PM). Mistakes always seem to be pounced upon *goes into dark corner ala Tamaki*
Unfortunately these messages sent me into such a tizzy to immediately upload the latest chapter (Regular Pandemonium) that I neglected to give the chapter a final polish and am now compltely and utterly embarrassed by the little details that I notice being out of place (like not having the chapter title listed after 'Chapter Two:') I am such a perfectionist I scare me sometimes.
Current word count for ARtL Chapter 3: 0
I may take a short break to thrash together some L or Silence the Lamb.... then again I need something cheery to write and both the Lab Ark of L and Angel Sanctuary as a whole are far from sunshine and puppies.
My house is currently under siege by great hulking masses of STUPID that call themselves builders. Both the kitchen and the bathroom are being done at the SAME TIME and I really want to lodge that replica wakazashi I bought in France in someone's skull.
It doesn't help matters that I got woken up at 5:30am by my mother who was still attempting to clear everything away for the worker's arrival at 8:00 this morning, only the workers didn't arrive until 10:00 and did I mention that my room's being used as a storage room? Hence the waking up part.... 'Cos that's what happens when you keep your room organised: it gets used by the rest of the family to dump crap in. -_-
On the upside they should be done before Christmas *snort* so we only have 3 weeks of hell.
Yeah, screw this, I'm going to stay with Dad until they stop vandalising the place. I mean, does knocking off the tiles in the bathroom call for maniacal laughter? Do that in your own time mate. Also, dust sheets should be put down BEFORE you traipse your muddy boots all over the carpet. Bastards.
Oh and a girl in my English class told me that insulting the builders means that I am "anti-proletariat and just trying to throw my weight around against someone that can't fight back." Aside from the fact that she was listening into a private conversation there are a few things wrong with this statement:
1) I am not 'anti-proletariat', unlike you I am actually come from a working class background. Perhaps you should stop getting your mum to drive you to uni and take the bus like everyone else as the teachers think your BMW in the (Staff ONLY) car park is an eye sore and offends their poor academic sensibilities... and it stands out too much amidst the mini's.
2) The workmen are perfectly capable of defending themselves against a 5ft 1" fresher girl. Especially when they operate in packs and come to work already half wasted.
3) If you're going to call me a 'boys-wah-zee bitch' (bourgeoisie, bitch) you could at least pronounce it properly, I really had no idea before today that spelling mistakes could be articulated, I guess you learn something new everyday.
Final food for thought: how do stupid people get into university? Though at least the topics of argument have moved past 'you smell' and 'your mum' insults. Lovely.
In other news: 4616 words for the next chapter of A Reason to Live though really I don't have the energy or the positivity to continue it now since I want to end the chapter on a light note as opposed to a sadistic 'rocks fall' scenario. Maybe I should just write an angsty future segment and get it out of my system before I start killing off characters or something...
Have a good chunk of ARtL Chapter Two typed up, a bit under 2000 words but that's good going considering how many assignments and projects I have for uni. Here are some of the best lines, though hopefully it's vague enough to keep you guessing...totally pimping xmutedx's idea here -_-:

“Keep your eyes ahead, Harry. You can't look away now.”
-
Arms tightened slightly around his torso as the person leaned in to whisper directly in Harry's ear. “Well, you weren't ready before, were you? And we haven't met up in a while.”
-
“I didn't miss any did I?”
-
“He's going to be pretty amazing later on, isn't he, Koenma-sama?”

Yes, completely evil. ^_^
More to come...maybe.
UPDATE: 3422 Words! And someone unexpected makes an appearence...
Along the equator at ground level I'm guessing there's only two, plus between a swamp and a desert, that part of the Earth Kingdom won't have an autumnal period, nevermind winter- plus you never see…
Well, whenever you do post it, I'll love to read it. The notes I read about it in livejournal seem interesting. (Sighs. You don't mind at all that I'm reading most of your posts right? Makes me…
I didn't even know Lizeth wrote any crossovers! I read History of Magic (since it was mentioned in your crossover list) and it was awesome! I'm sad that I didn't mention any crossovers you didn't…
I haven't ever read FFVII (so I'm hesitant to read any fanfiction of it), but I perused your phoenix-themed list and happened to already read 3 of them except the Dark Phoenix. Thank you very much…
