In the SPN Then and Now podcast, Jessica Steen recalled that the first time she saw Missy Bender was when she filmed this scene, and she was quite taken aback by the girl’s appearance, so her creeped out reaction was mostly real.
And small wonder, since the young actress turned in a super-creepy performance. (Is this the first example of the creepy child trope in the series?) Alexia Fast also performed well later when she returned as a young adult to play Dean’s Amazon daughter in s7, “The Splice Girls”.
