I am a 26 year employee of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. working with traumatized families. I got my MA in Liberal Studies in 2013. My thesis, which has been published, was a passion project. The published title is Child Abuse Victims/Combat Veterans and PTSD and available on Amazon. Not knowing any better, I elected Lambert Academic publishing. That does not change the content of the book. I have worked in over 10 Youth Facilities for those placed by family court. I am from Brooklyn New York, have experienced significant trauma in my life. I am also a cancer survivor. My father was both an abused child and a wounded veteran of the Korean War. My experiences with youth and being raised by him until the age of 15 are woven through the text. I intend to put my papers up her shortly. They are all a great source of pride for me.

There is a vast amount of victims of child abuse that end up in the military with studies done. When there is a diagnoses of PTSD there are physiological and neurological impacts for both abuse victims and soldiers in combat. There may be a relation to these changes that results in PTSD sufferers manifesting symptoms and displaying behaviors in common. Over the course of time there have been studies, more so with soldiers than children, describing the symptoms of PTSD and providing other names for the disorder until 1980. In today's films we find marketing that preys upon myths, rituals, and religion. The debate betwe... more In today's films we find marketing that preys upon myths, rituals, and religion. The debate between utilizing religious analogy and distorting the same for the purposes of "selling a film" is a continuum. Films continue to be produced with the invariable question of good versus evil and the correlates to religious myths, rituals, and myths provide wide audience appeal. Does contemporary film mimic current religious myth and rituals or portray them in a different fashion? Can the power of film change current rituals and provoke antithetical thoughts? Some literature and film review may provide an answer. The market lends itself to surreal solutions as that fills the perpetual need of society to "take a look" at alternative worlds with the potential of betterment.

How can a person learn to control the symptoms of PTSD and share their feelings and emotions? There are times in the life of every person where they reach out and utilize a talent to express their feelings. The very word "talent" has a reinforcing property of positive energy. The symptoms of PTSD, the physiological and neurological impact, and interventions are gaining momentum in research and based on many traumatic experiences. Those that have chosen to help, are in a professional capacity to do so, and are "all ears" should take advantage of art therapy.

Does this not impact their loved ones and families? Do we account for the sexuality of returning soldiers that make it to homeland tarmacs? We immortalize iconic figures and pay little attention to their sexual behavior or dismiss what we do not want to believe. Are we hypocrites considering the repealed "Don't Ask Don't Tell" law surrounding homosexuals in the military? Does the act of repealing the law equate to cultural and full acceptance without continued discrimination and violence? Audie Murphy (pictured below between Alan Ladd and Donna Reed) starred as Cadet Thomas in "Beyond Glory" (Latimer, ; was there more to the title than met the eye?
