Happy 92nd Birthday, Mom!

Today is her birthday. In about an hour and a half, I'll be driving over to get her for breakfast as that's what Brother and Sis KS want to do. Yesterday though, we had a big party for her at a local "family bar/restaurant" that serves pizzas and sammies and salads; I came home with most of my salad and pizza despite being hungry. And I wound up talking to the cousins who were closest to my age, Cara, Anita, and Mary Jane. Anita asked if we could all get together later for a "Cousin's Meeting" and said we'd go out that night.

Anyway, pizza was good, Mom had part of my salad, there were about 25 people there (which was a good amount, considering), including Brother, who came up from Tennessee. He didn't speak to me but did talk to one cousin for a bit and sat with his son (Nephew Radar). Sis KS moved over to talk to them as well.

While on the phone with silvrethorn later that night, I got a call from Anita - "Where are you?" So they'd decided to actually meet up for dinner. I threw on some clothes (I'd been in my loungers) and fortunately, the restaurant was only about 10 minutes from the house. Another pizza/bar place and I really wasn't hungry but wound up buying appetizers (pretzel bites with house white cheese dip which was incredible) and a tuna salad plate that probably had at least a half pound of tuna on it. I wound up bringing over 3/4 of that home to go with the other salad and pizza in the fridge. Anyway, the cousins decided we should all go on a trip together within the next year and we may go to the Grand Canyon and/or Yosemite and/or Yellowstone. It could be interesting.

Oh, my birthday! It was decent. We went out to Thai and I had yellow curry for the first time - it was very yummy. Mom had red curry and my neighbor, who went with us, had Pad Thai. Sis KS didn't like her meal and sadly, I have no idea what it was. But she doesn't want to ever go back.

I did get some lovely money for gifts. Sis KS gave me a bag of...stuff. Some of it is useful, some of it is. Um. Mom gave me some candy she'd won at Bingo and a go mug. And then I took myself to Hasting Nursery and bought some plants (tomatoes, two irises, two okra, some marigolds and some petunias). And because silvrethorn asked when I told her, these are the kinds I purchased:

Night Sky Petunia

Black Ray Petunia

Moonstruck Petunia

Frimousse Iris

Megabucks Iris

And for tomatoes, I was given an Evil Eye and a Bud's Atomic (tie dye cherry, I have no idea what the Evil Eye will look like, I haven't gone to a site yet), Cherokee Purple, Dark Star, and Sun Sugar - along with something else I can't recall and I don't seem to have a label for, so that will be exciting!

What are you planting?

Second Sunday of the month

If this is your first time at <lj user="comment_fic"> on Sunday, you can either post a previous prompt, or fill one. Or both!

How to do this:

Looking for prompts? You can find them in various ways! You can rummage around at the <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ns96nSxuE3O7DYu7fYyUeXIRASUiXqWRhLosbl14rFs/edit?pli=1#gid=0">Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet</a>, or go into the <a href="http://comment-fic.livejournal.com/calendar">Calendar Archives</a>, or for more recent prompts, you can use <a href="http://www.livejournal.com/search/?type=advanced&amp;area=comments&amp;journal=comment_fic">LJ&#39;s advanced search options</a> to find prompts to request and/or fill.

Whichever you decide to do, prompt or fill (or both!), please remember:

1. You can only request five prompts to be filled.

2. You can request no more than three prompts from a particular fandom.

3. You can, however, fill as many prompts as you'd like!

4. In the subject line, <i>be sure</i> to say whether this is a request or a fill!

5. You must link back to whatever the prompt is in the community logs (whether filling or requesting it be filled), and, if you're filling the prompt, <i>please complete the fill as a response to the original prompt</i>.

6. If you are filling an "any/any" prompt, please let us know what fandom (or, if original, say so!) you're using for the response.

8. If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

Take the Quiz!

You got: SAN from "PRINCESS MONONOKE"
OK, so she might not like you at first because...well...you're a human. But, once you become her trusted bestie, she'll do everything to protect you. She'll be like a guardian angel but with a blood-thirsty personality. She'll have your back 1000% and if you ever need a sense of security, you can always depend on the baddest wolf girl in the forest.

San or Nausicaa would've been my automatic choices, truthfully. So yay for me?

Give Me Prompts!

So, I want to do some writing. Maybe you want to help?

Give me a prompt. Please, no pairings nor fandom.

I will write you a fic - it might be very short, it might be up to 1,000 words. It may be fandom related. It may be original.

Thanks!

Pretty!

A foal with a silhouette of a horse on his neck.

The Finnish wolf with a heart-shaped face, though I thought it looked more like a fox face stuck on a wolf body. Still cute!

Square Comics...with a dark twist at the end.

Yuki is a wolfdog who isn't as huge as he looks.

Also, for Americans only, enter to win a collection of Buffy DVDs, a "Team Spike" t-shirt, and other goodies!
