Reading comprehension, along with all other language skills, has become a big concern in ELT, while self-efficacy is a pyschological aspect that affect the learners’ success in mastering the skill. In this regard, this study attempts to find out whether EFL learners’ self-efficacy affects the learners’ reading comprehension in Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia. The study applied correctional study with quantitative design. Participants in this study were 50 learners of English Education Department. A self-efficacy questionnaire (SEQ) and reading comprehension test were applied to the participants as parts of the correlational research model. The collected quantitative data were analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The purpose of this study is to explain the speech acts in the language of Tresemme shampoo advertisement and imply them in learning English for Senior High School. The source of the data in this study is the ads of Tresemme shampoo products that aired on television and the internet. Data collection techniques uses the recording techniques, observing and noting. The collected data is analyzed by using heuristic technique. The steps in analyzing the data are done by reducing, presenting and interpreting the data using heuristic techniques, and then drawing the conclusions. The results of the study will show that the speech acts on Tresemme shampoo product used literal direct and indirect speech acts to attract consumers by involving a model who performs her hair care and provides information about the product. The data of this research were clauses, phrases, and words. This study departed from the theory of grammatical cohesion from Halliday & Hasan (1976) and the theory of conjunctive system by Halliday & Matthiesen (2014). The sources of data were Thai Cave Rescue news in British Broadcasting Corporation, Russia Today, France 24, Voice of America and China Central Television newspapers. The method used in this research was qualitative. It provided the types that reference (43%) was predominant with personal and comparative reference, was realized by anaphoric and cataphoric. We also would like to thank to our lecturer Dra, Meisuri M.A, who gives us intruction, advise, and motivation so that we could finish this paper. We have found some obstacles when we did the preparation of this research but we could cover them by did our lecturer's advice ad found some theory related to our research. We had been scripted the Indonesian movie which have code-switching in there. After the data collected we tried to analyze the data by grouping the data to be the types of code-switching.

The writer uses 3 poems of Oscar Wilde to be analyzed. These poems are Ava maria plena gratia, An inscription and Amor intellectualis. The focuses of this research are to find the kinds of Deixis. Theoretically, this study is expected to be useful for researchers of language and literature because the poems have its own peculiarities. For teacher, this study can be used as a reference material to conduct a study of literary texts. Practically, this research can contribute the importance of understanding and preserving literature through language, especially for the next generation so that the value of emotions which contained in the language will be resolved. This study used a qualitative descriptive method in the form of content analisys. The data that have been collected are transcribed and grouped according to characteristic, form, and function that are related to the formulation of the problem in research.
