This paper presents for Pakistan an analysis of the country's recent economic growth and soci... more This paper presents for Pakistan an analysis of the country's recent economic growth and social development, and medium term prospects covering the period of the Seventh Plan. The meaning of economic growth is self-evident. In contrast, by social development we shall mean the pace of progress as regards the distribution of income, the satisfaction of essential needs, balanced development and employment of human resources. The paper has two purposes (i) to provide valuable information for policy making in the area of growth and development, and (ii) to demonstrate the attractiveness and usefulness of working with the models we have developed. We shall rely exclusively on the results obtained from the planning models which were developed in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad and Erasmus University, Rotterdam Netherlands. How to Apply Multidimensional Graphs in Non-Cooperative Games

This paper starts from the doctoral thesis on non-cooperative games by John Forbes Nash and appli... more This paper starts from the doctoral thesis on non-cooperative games by John Forbes Nash and applies a multidimensional coordinate space approach to visualize a full model of non-cooperative games in the same graphical space and time, with infinity equilibrium points, solutions, strong solutions, and sub-solutions. This graphical transformation into multidimensional cooperative games that we call Mega-Disks Networks Mapping (MDN-Mapping).<br><br>The principles behind this application to Nash are found in Estrada (2015), where MDNMapping is shown to capture a large amount of information from n dimensions in the same graphical space and time. The MDN-Mapping creates the possibility of visualizing large numbers of endogenous and exogenous variables that are distributed, moved, and interconnected in different Nano-Disks (j), Micro-Disks (k), Sub-Disks (L), and General-Disks (m) within the Mega-Disk (MD) and without visual restrictions. This makes it possible to observe how infinity endogenous variables are moving simultaneously with infinity exogenous variables in the same graphical space. At the same time, we can visualize how all these variables interact by visualizing large numbers of asymmetric spiral-shaped figures with n faces that are continuously changing. These asymmetric spiral-shaped figures with n faces experience expansion or contraction, depending on the changes that occur during the movement from any Nano-Disk (j) to the Mega-Disk (MD) or on the mega-arithmetic mean.

The new normal is a conceptual situation where economic and political agents are economically con... more The new normal is a conceptual situation where economic and political agents are economically convinced and politically motivated to adapt to temporary austerity in economic growth and political participation. The concept entails a remarkable and rare mix of economics and politics. The alternative is to actively plan towards changing the underlying benchmark. Focusing on Russia and China, the paper draws on results from two studies that reflect on underlying weak and strong links in the two benchmark economies. One study examines the tendency and causes for slow growth and sticky distribution in Russia, when compared to China, making use of social accounting matrix multipliers. The Russian weak tendencies are partly due to structural imbalances inherited from the past economy with its state-led and parallel shadow counterparts. This paper highlights the insights to be gained from employing a demand-determined growth model. A modelling framework along the Social Accounting Matrix, empirically analysed for a group of sixteen countries at different stages of economic development, gives support to the convergence thesis.
