This is a very simple plugin that allows you to bulk change author for media files.

The action is added in the “List” view of the Media Library.

Instalazioa

Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/bulk-change-media-author directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.

: Open “Screen Options” at the top-right in the Media Library and change the value of “Number of items per page” in the “Pagination” section.
: If you apply “Change Author” in the Media Library without selecting any media, it will prompt you to filter media by user. After that, you will be able to change the author for all media uploaded by that user.

This is a fantastic plugin from a good developer. As of Sep 2023 it now works with WordPress 6.3.1 I never like to issue SQL updates against a live database. But this plugin offers an easy way to change the author on all media in just a few clicks. It’s a real timesaver. Thank you.

I used it on WordPress 5.7.1. The plugin does what it should do. I do not want to use the admin user any longer for security reasons. So I assigned all the posts and media file to a different user.
