She was known for portraying Die Bild-Lilli in the film Lilli – ein M\u00e4dchen aus der Gro\u00dfstadt<\/em> (1958). Her other roles included cult science fiction films Reptilicus<\/em>, Journey to the Seventh Planet<\/em>, and The Black Cobra<\/em>, as well as the popular German Edgar Wallace crime film series.<\/p>\n She was the daughter of Gerd Henriette Poulsen, a concert singer, and Poul Smyrner (Paul Eduard Vilhelm Smyrner), a well-known stage and film actor, as well as theatre director.
