Terri Nunn is an American singer and actress. She is the vocalist of new wave\/synth-pop band Berlin, who are known for their song “Take My Breath Away” from the film Top Gun<\/em>. She co-starred in the film Thank God It’s Friday<\/em>, in the made-for-tv movie The Georgia Peaches<\/em>, and on the show Lou Grant<\/em>. She is herself also known as Berlin.<\/p>\n

Terri is the daughter of Joyce and Larry Nunn, who was a painter and child actor. Her cousin is singer and songwriter Pamela Moore. She is married to attorney Paul Spear, and has a daughter, who is adopted, from Russia.<\/p>\n

Terri’s paternal grandfather was Edward Hazen Nunn (the son of John William Nunn and Marguerite Ethel McManus). Edward was born in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. John was an English emigrant, from Howden-Le-Wear, Durham, the son of Harry Nunn and Hannah Bolingbroke. Marguerite was born in Ontario, Canada.<\/p>\n

Terri’s paternal grandmother was Olive B. Moore (the daughter of Charles Alfred Moore and Teresa Isabella Murphy). Olive was born in Eureka, Humboldt, California. Charles was born in Massena, Cass, Iowa, the son of Harry G. “Henry” Moore and Robella Dunlap Haslett, whose paternal grandparents were from Portsea, Hampshire, England. Terri’s great-grandmother Teresa was born in Three Cabins, Humboldt, the daughter of John Murphy, who was born in Kildare, County Kildare, Ireland; and of Lelah Roberts.<\/p>\n

Terri’s maternal grandfather was Ralph Downer (the son of Almer Downer and Georgia\/Georgiana H. Briggs).\u00a0Ralph was born in New York City, New York. Almer was born in Lloyd, Ulster, New York, the son of John J. Downer and Hannah Ann Palmatier. Georgia was born in Orage, New York, the daughter of William Edward Briggs and Mary Elizabeth Clark.<\/p>\n

Terri’s maternal grandmother was Mildred Lorraine Benham (the daughter of Charles Lincoln Benham and Alice May Long). Mildred was born in Anderson, Indiana. Charles was born in Crawford, Indiana, the son of John Marcus Benham and Minerva Catherine Seaton. Alice was born in Leavenworth, Crawford, the daughter of Josiah Long and Esther Bowerman, who were from Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
