He is known for his roles in the films Tru Loved<\/em>, Flash of Genius<\/em>, The Lovely Bones<\/em>, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief<\/em>, and its sequel; I Am Number Four<\/em>, Inside<\/em> (2011), The Host<\/em> (2013), Against the Sun<\/em>, Good Kill<\/em>, Love & Mercy<\/em> (2014), Almost Friends<\/em>, An Affair to Die For<\/em>, Son of the South<\/em>, and Malignant<\/em>; on the shows Threshold<\/em>, Angel of Death<\/em>, Supernatural<\/em>, Dirty John<\/em>, Another Life<\/em>, and Walker<\/em>, and in the made-for-tv movie Go Figure<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Jake is married to writer Allie Wood, with whom he has two children.<\/p>\n

Jake’s great-grandfather Virgil was the son of Jacob Winfield Scott Abel and Clara Margaret Isch. Kathleen was the daughter of George B. Weaver and Nannetie Musser.<\/p>\n

Jake’s paternal grandmother is Betty June Bailey (the daughter of Charles Willard Bailey and Florence Lowena\/Laverna Beard). Betty was born in Ohio. Charles was the son of Emory Elsworth\/Ellsworth Bailey and Alice Lenora\/V. Wilcox. Florence was the daughter of Otto Fink Beard and Cora Sutton.<\/p>\n

Jake’s maternal grandfather is Robert Allen Swinehart (the son of Lawrence Raymond Swinehart and AnnaBelle Sellers). Lawrence was the son of Allen Swinehart and Clara B. Reed. AnnaBelle was the daughter of Robert P. Sellers and Lillie May Myers or Edgington.<\/p>\n

Jake’s maternal grandmother is Donna Jean Lantzer (the daughter of Earl Lee Lantzer and Ruth Ann Bissell\/Johnson). Earl was the son of Lee Valentine Lantzer and Edith May Bowers.<\/p>\n
