Halle Bailey is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She starred as mermaid Ariel in Disney’s live-action film The Little Mermaid<\/em> (2023). Her roles also include the films Last Holiday<\/em>, The Line<\/em>, The Color Purple<\/em> (2023); and You, Me & Tuscany<\/em>; and the show Grown-ish<\/em>. She is a member of contemporary R&B duo Chloe x Halle, with her sister Chloe Bailey<\/a>. As a solo artist, she has released the song “Angel.”<\/p>\n

She was raised in Mableton, Georgia, the daughter of Courtney and Douglas Bailey, and moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2012 for her career. Her father is her co-manager.
