Brendan Coyle is a British actor. He is known for his roles in The Weir<\/em> on stage, and on television’s North & South<\/em>, Lark Rise to Candleford<\/em>, and Downton Abbey<\/em>, as well as the latter’s film sequels.<\/p>\n

He was born in Corby, England, to an Irish father, Patrick, from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, and a Scottish mother, Delia, from Belshill. His great-uncle, his grandmother’s brother, was Scottish footballer and football manager Matt Busby (Alexander Matthew Busby). He holds British and Irish citizenship.<\/p>\n

Brendan’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Anderson.<\/p>\n
