Tex Avery was an American animator, director and voice actor. He directed and produced many cartoon shorts during the Golden Age of Animation, mostly for MGM and Warner Bros., and helped create famous characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, and Droopy, among others.

He was the son of Mary Augusta and George Walton Avery. He was married to Patricia Johnson, with whom he had two children.

Tex’s paternal grandfather was Needham Avery, the son of John Walton Avery and Elizabeth Brannon Tomme. Neeham was born in Georgia. John was the son of Needham Avery and Martha Hughes Walton. Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph Tomme Jr. and Zilpha Vining.
