Selena Gomez is an American singer, actress, producer, businessperson, and fashion designer. Her roles include the films Another Cinderella Story, Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard, Ramona and Beezus, Monte Carlo, Spring Breakers, the Hotel Transylvania franchise, Getaway, Girl Rising, Rudderless, Behaving Badly, The Fundamentals of Caring, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, In Dubious Battle, The Dead Don’t Die, A Rainy Day in New York, Dolittle (2020), and Emilia Pérez; the series Barney & Friends, Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena + Chef, Only Murders in the Building, and Selena + Restaurant; and the made-for-tv movie Princess Protection Program. She is the daughter of Mandy Dawn (Cornett), a stage actress, and Ricardo Joel Gomez. Her father is of Mexican descent, with roots in Monterrey. Her mother was adopted by Debbie Jean (Gibson) and David Michael Cornett, and was raised in Texas. Selena has stated that, later in life, her mother found out that, by birth, she “has Italian roots.” It is not clear if her mother is of fully or partially Italian background; she has been referred to as both in press reports. Selena’s mother’s adoptive parents are mostly of British Isles descent. David was born in Texas, and is the son of Ernest William Cornett and Helen Elizabeth Spangler. Debbie is the daughter of J. C. Selena’s parents separated when she was five years old, and her mother later married Brian Teefy. Selena is married to musician, songwriter, record producer, and singer Benny Blanco.
She was named after Tejano singer and actress Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. Selena has released a Spanish-language EP.
Selena’s paternal grandfather is named José Ricardo Gómez.

Unless there have been remarriages, all I know and that I can find is that he maternal side is mostly just old stock British colonial heritage with maybe some Irish, and from the South, in particular. She has a cooking show, and her maternal grandparents have been on it quite often, and her maternal grandfather in particular.
Her grandfather is David M. Cornett from Texas. He is the son of Ernest William Cornett Sr from Texas, and Helen Elizabeth Spangler from Pennsylvania. Helen’s mother appears to have some Irish ancestry since her mother’s name was Kennedy. Ernest’s family appears to go back to the original Virginia colony with that line having come from Southhampton, England. There looks to be a French line, too, that marries in.
Her maternal grandmother is an Debbie J. Gibson, the daughter of J.C. Gibson from Texas, and Lois Maydell Pierce also from Texas. Lois Pierce’s line also stretches back to British Colonial America.
